I'm looking for a legal option to watch F1, Indy, NASCAR etc. Formula 1 is available on TF1 in France but, despite being a free channel, it's not available in HD for free. It's also only being shown once and I'm usually not at home on Sunday. No, I don't have a TIVO or something alike.

Any ideas which service is available worldwide (or rather in France)? I've been looking for some time but, to be honest, it's quite hard to find legal ones. Not so hard to find illegal streams...but I want something reliable and don't mind paying for it. English commentary would be great but isn't mandatory.

I could, however, get German pay TV through our satellite dish but I'd prefer a stream.

If you don't mind Chinese sites (no laws against streaming here) you could pick up some coverage. I don't know what your own country laws are but it's legal as far as this end goes.

If your laws don't mind, try todou.com, youku.com or baidu.com and type in what your looking for.

Le Mans races are usually covered by both Peugeot and Audi, but you probably already get the lot of those...

Other than that, I'm in pretty much the same boat.

I wouldn't mind paying for the service, in case I've made myself unclear. :)

It's actually hard to find legal movie / sports streams in Europe...and companies wonder why people download rips. :/

The BBC launched a global iPlayer app over the summer for a subscription fee (which is laughably cheaper than our own licence fee ) that could be useful for watching F1 but seeing as they are loosing most of the rights at the end of the year it might not be worth it. Plus its on iPad only.

As for Indy and Nascar I think your only legit option would be to get satellite / cable tv.

I remember searching for a legal F1 stream in my country to no avail, so I stayed with the alternative. If you can't find one, then seriously, why bother? Any will do.
