Nice to hear your situation progressing to your favor. From reading your symtoms, I would say you had one of three issues, bad (or not enough) ram, write issues with the hard drive, or heat issues with the processor. Hope your Compaq gives you trouble free use.

I just recently got a Laptop. It's an Acer TravelMate 8100. I hope I don't have any issues with it as it's also my Work Desktop computer as well.

We almost bought an acer funilly enough, i can't remember what it was - they all seem to look the same , but i know it wasn't that particular one - the one we looked at was cheaper , but that one looks good 👍
