Subaru Impreza 22B STI Premium Sport Coupe
This is the Subaru's tuning department's STi's finest. Subaru 22B STi is most rare of all Impreza's, and it's worth of it. Only 400 of these virtually hand-made cars were made, and they were sold instantly. I've seen only one used one for sale in Europe, and the pricetag was quite shocking. But with that money, you get grunty, 2.2l 280 bhp turbocharged boxer engine, that makes this sleek, if not even savage looking coupe not only run fast, but fly low around the corners. Mostly because of that innovative boxer engine, the cars COG ( centerpoint of gravity ) is so low, that the car grips the road like bubblegum grips your hair, even in stock form! If you know what you're doing, you can feather the throttle and guide the car to the inside of the curve and still get out faster than on a more open line that takes you near outer side of the curve. Acceleration is swift and effortless, and the car keeps accelerating till it hits the rev limiter. This car is already a classic and one of the cars I would love to own.
mileage: 18800, and price was 20-35k.
Stock power, in bhp: 290 bhp@6000rpm's
Stock torque, in ft/lb: 280.27ft/lb@3200 rpm's
Stock weight, in kg: 1270kg
Stock 1/4 mile in seconds :0'13.358@103 mph
Stock 1000m in seconds :0'24.414@134mph
Stock 0-30mph in seconds :0'01.540
Stock 0-60mph in seconds : five seconds flat.
Stock 0-100mph in seconds :0'12.020
Top Speed in mph :147.16 mph
0-100mph-0 in seconds :0'17.380
Pro's:Turbocharged, grunty engine with short gear ratios and grippy AWD, combined with light, mean looking coupe body assure that you'll stay ahead of others. Meaty brakes make sure that you'll stop quickly enough when needed.
Cons
rice.. and the rarity of this car. you might love to have one, but try to find one that's for sale, with reasonable price tag. It also needs sixth gear for longer straights..
Conclusion: This car does almost everything you wish. Just don't use it into shopping trips, because I think that the eggs will be scrambled in that short time between the mall and your home.
There you go. this is the stock part. next I'll deal with the tuned one.
Subaru Impreza 22B STI ARC-edition -- Advanced Race Car By Mad Finntuners co.
This particular 22B generates 548 bhp. It might not sound much after 700bhp+ GT-R's, but remember, that this car weights only 1079 kg, thanks for weight reduction. The acceleration and turning in the curves is neck-snappingly sharp. And boy, does this blue devil turn well? Drift or grip, you must decide that yourself before going to track and blasting towards corner. Of course, tyre choice has big part in this.
Modifications
Power mods: racing exhaust, port polish, engine balancing, racing chip, NOS, lvl.5 turbocharger and racing intercooler. ( plus oil change from standard to racing oil.. laugh.gif )
handling mods: racing brake kit, brake balance controller, fully customisable suspension, body stiffening and roll cage + lvl. 3 weight reduction.
other mods: fully customizable racing gearbox, triple plate clutch, racing flywheel, fully customizable LSD, carbon driveshaft, R3 tyres, wing, VCD

Pro's: Good can always be improved. This car is able to destroy such supercars as VW Nardo and Pagani Zonda in the corners, and run neck to neck on straights. On acceleration this car smokes them for sure.
Cons: modding costs.. and increased power means increased engine/chassis stress.. but, no pain, no gain.. right?
Times on GVS: 1'55.001 and 1'49.877 with NOS
Times on El Capitan: 1'44.374 and 1'43.183 with NOS. ( I get ahead in the straight but in the twisties I can't use NOS and my overall cornering suffers from the speed when i try to go faster there without NOS.. anyways, I survived.)
Conclusion: If you want stylish AWD coupe with supercar-rivalling power and speed, this is your car. It's ultimate trackday weapon, but wide torqueband assures that it's also comfortable to drive at cruising speed, when the engine burble scares the heck out of posers..
