Subaru WRX handles poorly after mods

i was looking at his setup, and the lowest i can get the car is 92, so i figured he was talking about a different car.

but i have racing suspension on, so that would explain it.

Ive smoked all the easy and medium Rally races with tHe STI and I feel she handles great, Ill post up my settings when I get home. I'v done minimal tunning as there wasnt much to improve apon but I got great times with my curent set up and in the begining Hard races I smoked the Evo and the STI (and been using the WRX Rally I got from the prize) Im new to Rally tunning (my curent set up works) so I have My B settings still being modded around to look for improvements, but the car has collected dust since I got the Rally version.

from what ive found on gt2 and gt3, a well balanced car gives winning results, so as a general rule whatever i do to the front i do to the back. on my evo 8 MR i dropped it all the way, put all the suspension settings (spring rate and dampers) all the way up, i bought adjustable wings(and turned the down force to max), totally lightened it and i bought all the engine and transmission upgrades (about 580bhp) i noticed the higher the down force the more bhp you lose (which i kinda expected) so i bough some racing mids and nitrous, i turned the no2 up full so i could get out of the corners faster if i needed to.

i cant remeber the gear ratios but i think it was about 4 clicks up from normal, which was about 185mph top end.

the car handled great and with some careful boost usage and some mint slipstreaming its an easy win :sly: .....just dont go off the track tho...its like driving through an earthquake drunk :)

someone else will probably try this and think it sux :scared:

I am driving my C-Spec right now, and I figured I'd help. Anyways, my WRX is fully modified, which I understand isn't the case for you, and it's sitting at 526 HP, so we may be in a different ball park, but this setup has always worked for me, I use it on almost all of my cars. Ok this is just my humble tuning setup for my C-Spec:

Suspension:
Spring rate: Max
Ride Height: Min
Bound: 4F 8R
Rebound: 4F 8R
Camber: 3.5F 4.0R
Toe: -1F 0R
Anti-Sway: 5F 5R

LSD:
Initial: 10F 10R
Accel: 60F 60R
Decel: 5F 5R

Full downforce, no drivers assist of any kind, MT, no VCD

The thing turns like it's on rails, it can take a very agressive driving style and still handle amazing. The braking is lightning fast, and I think MT allows you to slow down faster, but that may just be in my head. Overall the car is pretty twitchy when you first try to drive it, but when you warm up you'll destroy everyone.
Lates.

Is your problem entry understeer or exit understeer?
Most posts have focused on exit understeer, and a lot of these things are more tahn valid (VCD, downforce etc), but have you tried moving the brake bias more towards the rear? This will give you varying amounts of oversteer on entry and can help you correct the line mid-corner if you are begining to understeer before the exit.
In short, don't discount the info you have already been given, as it is all good, valid info, but try brake bias for some adjustabilty...

OK then ....

This may help a bit as I have a Spec-C with Stage 2 Turbo; full suspension and stage 2 weight reduction (plus most other mods) - my settings work a treat for me

Ride Height:
Front - Minimum (I think it is about 95) Rear - 5 clicks above Minimum (100)

Spring Stiffness:
Front - 12.5 Rear - 14.0

Shock (Bound):
Front - 4 Rear - 7

Shock (Rebound):
Front - 5 Rear - 6

Camber:
Front - 2.0 Rear - 1.2

Toe:
Front - 0.0 Rear - 0.0

Stabilizers:
Front - 4 Rear - 4

Brake Balance Controller:
Front - 13 Rear - 16

Fully Adjustable LSD:
Initial - 10/10 Accel - 30/30 Decel - 20/20

ASM:
Front - 0 Rear - 0

TCS:
Set to 4

Adjustable Transmission:
Auto-Set to 20 (although for tighter tracks you may wish to reduce this a bit)

Wing/Downforce:
Front - Maximum Rear - Maximum

I find this works a treat!!!!! Just brake with enough time to spare and the corners are easy, I find I'm usually a gear above recommended and no worries!!!!

Give it a shot
