ok so i been playing since launch and trying to get better everyday, first by switching to the sticks for steering and the trigger for gas, and then by turning off assists as much as i can.

So heres the issue. I hit level 35 b spec and got the x1 and wow, i cant drive that car at all, not one little bit.

That car just showed me how much i really am the suck.

anyone else think this car is just too uncontrollable? or is it just me?

It's uncontrollable but i manage to tame it somehow..lol.
You need to practice and practice.
Loving that car so much...
Try to use throttle and brakes using the stick. The same goes to steering.

Yeah it is hard to drive no doubt about that, practice will make perfect, when i drive i take alot of kerb and/or grass on exits and i found out i cant do that when driving this thing, its super precise super fast and super balanced, you have to grow your confidence to master it.

I just unlocked this challenge for the X2010 and have to say I cannot as yet master this bizarre machine.
I consider myself a pretty good driver and can put down good times in an FGT, Toyota 7, other awesomely fast cars, even put the Cobra around the 'ring with out trouble but that X2010 is just in a class of its own and I'll need to get some practice on a flight sim to manage that thing!

Don't call yourself a sucky driver...you just happen to be sucky with the X1. And it's not even a real car anyways, so whatever.

Herein is the problem, if you don't love the car, you can forget the practice.

I am grinding pretty much 24/7 to get to level 35 B spec to get this car. I'm only level 28 A spec and I find it extremely boring to do endurance races over and over to get to level 30 A spec. Anyways, once I get the x2010 from B spec I will practice with it a lot so I can use this in the Indy 500 in A spec to make grinding in that mode a little faster, probably won't be easier though.

I have tried Monza numerous times now, and I think I've only actually completed two laps twice, and nowhere near quick enough.

Either I try and drive fast, in which case I crash, or I try to stay on the road and am too slow.

The thing is *mental*

Perhaps it might be easier with a wheel, but half the time I stack it into the very first tyre wall because the margins between braking late and braking too late seem to be in the order of nanoseconds, and if I ever make it round the first lap I get so giddy with excitement I make a really stoopid error and end up either in a gravel pit or not straightening out quick enough and driving into a tyre wall.

It's not just you

No it does not, you bought a sim racer not Wipeout Fury. I would be a lot more worried if it was the other way round ie you could drive the X1 and not other cars. Forget the X1, except maybe for grinding purposes.

If you can handle regular race cars well, without spinning out or cheating you're a good driver. Forget about the X1.

Don't worry man, whenever I play online there's always some div trying to drive the x1 around. Hitting everything and all grass but still leads :(

I wouldn't call the X1 a car, or at least I wouldn't drive a car like I would the X1. It feels so arcade-ish. The Vettel challenge is the only event I won't finish cause I just don't enjoy driving it.

ok, heres my 2 bits

this car is all throttle control (like the description says)
you dont have to brake at all, except on uturns and other sharp ones.

she will corner anything as long as u control or let go of the throttle.
Tough car to master, but it is fun. I dont drive it much at all because it feels like a cheat car.

my advice is tune downforce levels on it. i usually use a difference of 20, eg on high speed ring i use 90 front and 110 back and thats my standard levels really. im a DS3 user as well so i know what you mean by it being hard to control.
My other tip is dont always go flat out in it. once youve run it in a bit and it loosens up just go with the flow. learn how it reacts and you cn easily get pretty good with it :)

then go have fun by maxxing out downforce and taking the hig speed ring S's and 250mph :D
