In the past few weeks, Ive been plagued by a sudden loss pf grip during online races (private lobby, room with 13+ players, no headset and race quality on low).
The car behaves normally during qualify, but as soon as the race starts it feels like it's racing on ice and I have no grip even with racing soft tyres. The problem seems to go away after a few laps, but now and then it will present itself again during the race, specially when I'm behind another car...

What can be causing this? I've tested my internet connection and it seems to be ok...

At the start of an online race, the tires are cold. After a couple laps, the tires will heat up, and you'll have the grip you're used to (like you stated). This is normal, and it has nothing to do with your online connection.

While this is true, sometimes lag in the room itself can cause issues with grip. I have been on the receiving end of this many times and it isn't always down to tyres.

Example: I was in a one make race in an open lobby at Monza. As we came into the first corner on the first lap, approximately half the cars (including myself) did not slow down and ploughed into the barriers and the lead cars. Also most of the drivers in the room were very good and clean and were unlikely to be caught out by cold tyres.

This is what's been happening with me. It has nothing to do with cold tyres, it's a room issue, really.

Tires might be warming up. Though it could be the race quality being on low. See when you make a room then ideal quality is....
Race quality- high/very high
Chat quality- Low through/very low/off completely.

Everything runs much smoother with it like that instead of being race quality being lower.

I never have tire issues in my hours and hours of tuning, testing, racing in the lounge. My connections is not good, often lag a lot.
