Rick,
Bite the bullet and get bigger wheels and tires. 18" with a slight drop would look right.

Keeping in mind that there is nothing wrong with having an extra set of wheels/tires in the garage if needed. Sell them, if you must. If they're in nice shape, you should be able to at least recoup the cost of the tires.

As far as choice of wheels: I'm in agreeance with Keef, here. Those wheels were designed for that car, I swear...

After that last shot I think I'd stay away from black wheels. I like the Volk TE37's or CE28N's best, leaning towards the CE28N's in bronze. How about this: Order both, keep what you like and send the other set to me (where they will magically fit on the Si).
I think the only reason they might look bad in that chop is because they look matte. I've considered black wheels, but I'd rather go silver, gun metal, or bronze, right before I decide I want a full black set.

Gah, I want to, but I feel like I'd be wasting too much money on a perfectly good (or near) set of tires. But, I agree. Those RonJons just look so good. I will check though, to see if I can buy a used set first to help lessen the costs.

I'm betting Keef will now tell me to buy them in Liquid Graphite. :scared:

The chop was just something I had to try out to see, enlarge the stock wheels and drop it. 'Boring' wheels and stance does more for me than some $$$ 17s :)

If I wanted to, I probably could just go to Acura & buy an 18' set, but for a few reasons, I'd rather not. Worse yet on the subject, I found a set of Tenzo Type M Version 2's that look great. Haven't found a price per wheel figure yet, however.

Make 'em build a 17" set and I will. Until then, I don't want to spend $2,000 at Discount Tire for the set which will include a set of cheap Falkens instead of my perfectly good Yokohamas.
Well why didn't you tell me you wanted a 17!?

A silver RPF1, 17x8.5, is $245 on Tire Rack. The recommended 235/45-17 tire size leaves you with plenty of choices, namely the high-end sports tires like the Dunlop Z1 Star Spec and Bridgestone RE-01R. Also, lesser summer tires like the 350Z and RX8 standard Bridgestone RE050 and the Michelin Pilot Sport 2.

Are you leaning more towards a set of 5 spokes or multispoke like those RonJons, which look sweet by the way.
Here is a nice 5 spoke.

and here is a multispoke, just imagine these in black with red writing.

these are just a set that I thought looked cool.

He's got tires, and I hope they are smaller than 235/45s.

And since the RPF1 is a half inch wider than the stock wheels, at 8.5 inches, tires like the Z1 and RE-10R will fit well in the same size as stock, because their footprint is inherently wider than lesser performance tires, though classified as the same size.

So, ignoring my no-knowledge of tires n00bness, what does this mean for my Yokohama S.Drives? :dunce:

They'll fit just fine, but they won't look as wide as similarly sized high performance tires. They'll probably have a little bit of that "stretch" look.

They won't look stretched unless the Yoko's run a bit smaller than normal.

-> Honestly, the stock rims on the TL-S are pretty hard to top, they're good as it is. Here's what I say say about it:

Your thoughts, guys?
^ Cars like the wedge profile design (like the TL-S and my AP2 S2K), would look very good with any multi-spoke wheels. I like this on my S2K:

Those black Enkeis look great but I think something like BBS CHs would suit it

^ I like most BBS wheels, but they're mighty pricey and heavy too.

^ Unfortunately these look better on smaller cars (Civic or TSX).

and here is a multispoke, just imagine these in black with red writing.

^ This looks better on bigger cars (RL) or AWD monsters (Evo or STI).

these are just a set that I thought looked cool.

^ These are better fit on EG or EK Civics or the Fit. More for purpose built kind of stuff. ;)

Are you kidding? 235/45 on a 7.5? That's HUGE. I've got 185/45 on a 7 and don't really have a lot of stretch. Yeah, it depends on the tire make, but not that much.

PS: Yokohama 195/50 on a 7.5

The Enkei is 8.5, and the stock wheels are 8 inches wide, with 235 rubber. The sidewalls are already verticle on an 8 inch wide rim.

I really need to continue looking up these tire terms, or I may make a mistake during my purchase. :dunce:

I've talked to a few TL owners, but most of them have agreed on one thing. If the wheels must be 17", Enkei RFP1 (which I think hemisport suggested) are my best bet. Everything else I've looked at needs to be 18" or bust.
