I think we will need a new qualifier for the new game (especially physics); and thus establish new divisions for GT5 online.
Stig, i am more average than you. See you on the Leaderboards mate! LOL
I can't answer your question but I do like the structure. I mean cars and such can be decided and changed per season and, maybe, add a Formula championship above Prototypes.1: GTP US-W-Prototype Championship
2: GTP-US-W-GT1 championship
3: GTP-US-W-GT2 championship
4: GTP-US-W-Touring car championship
5: GTP-US-W-Lotus Elis Cup
6: GTP-US-W-250bhp-FWD championship
7: GTP-US-W-Viper Cup
8: GTP-US-W-Muscle car cup
9: GTP-US-W-Yaris cup
10:GTP-US-W-Karting Cup

Generally though it would feel great to work your way up to the top of the tree.
Great, I'm a pad user too. I'm looking in to Logitech wheels for the summer, though.
What is this GTP Bronze, Silver and Gold division thing?
Is this some exclusive club for the best drivers on this board?

Ah right. Not even close, I'm on it so you can see the Weekly Racing Series accepts even the lamest drivers.
It's a time attacking competition, there's the racing series and time trials sub-forums, you'll find more info there. But basically people at GTP gather to enter time attack challenges, the only prerequisite is to agree with the clean racing rules, which are explained on that very same subforum too.
Also, there's 5 divisions, composed of three tiers each, totalizing 15 classes of drivers. There's Div 1 Gold, seconded by Div 1 Silver and then Bronze, and then Div 2 Gold, Silver....
Wait, but there are race events too, right?
Ah right.
So I guess with these divisions (if you organise a race that is), you're basically likely to play against people of a similar skillset to you, right?
Sounds pretty cool in that case then.
Ah, but with GT5's My Lounge, we will be able to organize races once the divisions are set up and it gathers steam.Prologue don't allow private lobbies, the races are previously combined by the racing chat, look at the upper right of the screen, there's a yellow box and the chat link is on it.
That's not what I meant dude, use the tracks in the game, Suzuka, Fuji, Monza, Nurburgring, La Sarthe.... just like the original license tests, but comparing each GTP driver to another, and using some nasty combos, like a Ford GT LM on N2 tires around Laguna seca ( You'll be corkscrewed), or an SLR Mclaren around the nurburgring, or whatever event the admins could possibly think of ( a clever mix of drivetrain layouts, tracks and tires ). The focus is to test the skills within pre defined situations, comparing my laps, to your laps, to Spyrrari laps we could define who will go for which division.
