Can someone tell me which of the statements is the only and true?
In multiplayer races in GT5:
1. lobby 32/ in race 16 drivers
2. lobby 32/ in race 20 drivers...

Because I saw on the Polish website which is selling the game, it will be up to 20 players in the race. Also on the allegro (it's something like e-bay) say it will be up to 20 players. Can someone explain this to me? I always thought that the first statement is true and suddenly I saw this in the description of sale GT in Poland.

Everything I've seen is 16 on track, and 32 total in lobby, presumably 16 as spectators.

OK, well here's the thing. After playing GT4 with a wheel for the first time, I have some getting used to. Feels great though! But I realized that I also kinda suck compared to just about everyone here. To be honest, it's probably because I'm 14. I do consider myself pretty mature for my age, but I lack the real world experience and also the long-time gaming experience many on GTP have. But I guess I should still fit in in the Bronze league, it's about having fun and racing clean:tup:

If you have a use for it, I'd like to volunteer my spreadsheet skill to help out. It has become apparent this will be an organisational bombsite with different divisions over countries, with room to progress and drop over different types of races and different leagues :)

I have one question that noone seems to have thought of though >
As you know there are some lightning fast people here, who may not be able to commit as much time to racing single player or even multiplayer, thereby not earning the credits to buy the cars needed for the nessessary races for the leagues and divisions etc....

Would it get abit boring for said users if they are always almost lapping racers in the lower end because they can't find the time to race and buy the cars needed for the fastest/most skilled upper ends of the leagues and divisions... hope that makes sense
Of course it would really only apply in the first few months of release I think.

Cheers,

It'll take abit of time to get the online races up n running for the reasons you stated @Preach ie: for users to acumulate credits to buy cars.

Although if you do start with a lower classed car as all of us will, and compete online with it, you'll be amazed at how fast you gain credits - time flies when you have fun i guess:tup:

Is there a chance we can get GTP v XXX in the future as well? I mean 8 players from GTP v 8 players from another forum.

Hope so, yet another league and division to race in :) I do wonder how many GT5 fan forums will put together a team or ten in various race classes in inter forum races.
Then you have the guys like me who are wanting to put together a team of some kind who don't really have a strong allegence to a particular forum, even though I have a GTP_ tag.
If GTPlanet is going to be the fan appointed hub (and its becomming more and more likely) for all things coolish in GT5, then they'll have to put together a team registration aswell. Like I say, an organisational bombsite...

teams by forums
teams by country
teams by timezone (likely)
random teams who like to race but can't always make it to the larger events
the standard GTP events + extras
single driver racing leagues and ladders
possibly seperate pad & wheel users (or will pad users be given 0.75seconds per lap on ladders becuase the wheel[when I was last competing in GTP events] turned out to be 1.5 seconds faster per lap - is this a fair compromise?)
different race classes
and different divions for each of the above
<and whatever else I've missed>

Well, my services are on offer if anyone wants them, from this forum or otherwise.

I skimmed through the first few pages and didn't notice anything about this so I'll bring it up.

I don't have Prologue so I don't know how penalties work and if GT5 will have the same penalty system, but what about this idea: Since we can have 16 spectators, why don't we use them as stewards. They can monitor a car or a few cars and watch for anything that could be considered an infraction, whatever an infraction that isn't covered by a penalty system would be.

Other than that, just structuring things so that it creates the most enjoyable experience for everyone is what we should aim for. If it's groups by region, time zone, skill level, or whatever, as long as everyone has fun. We could even break it up into those just wanting a stress-free race for fun and those who want to race seriously.

I've been working on a website for organizing community leagues originally outlined here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=129017

This is not affiliated with GTP but would be available for anyone to come and create/organize their own leagues. It'll be designed to support leagues of a decent size, multiple administrators, split events with too many people into heats, help you find a volunteer to host, etc.

Should have a prototype up this weekend to hopefully get some feedback. Will post an update to the thread linked above when it's up.
