I want a new game. All I ever play is GT3. I also have Metal GEar Solid/Sons of Liberty, which is great, but a little to involved for me right now. I rarely get any time to play anything. I want a game that is not some stupid kids game, but also doesn't require playing for hours on end. Something I can save whenever I want and get back to it when I can. Something interesting, challenging and maybe even serious. Type of game doesn't matter much, but tell me what type it is if you suggest something. So, any suggestions?

Jak and Daxter (the precursor legacy), a platinum game.

Platform game in a huge world without loading time, the levels aren't separated in any way. Quite classic mission type platform. I have never played a game that has got a better atmosphere (I should mention that i never play anything else than platform and racing games.) Not that hard, takes you about 10 hours to complete. I don't know what's so great about this game other than it's simplicity, variation and atmosphere but to me it's a modern classic.

[edit] I've never played it myself but mabye you should check out ICO, i've heard nothing but positive reactions to it and read nothing but almost only 5/5 reviews

I'm getting some great entertainment value from Need For Speed: Underground. It makes for a nice distraction from reality. Not sure how it is on consoles, but it looks and plays nicely on the PC.

Not from experience, but I hear that some of the Jedi Night series of games that are out now are supposed to be pretty good as well.

Jak & Daxter, Ratchet & clank...non-involving and classics in their own rights. Ratchet will easily make game of the year.

Another awesome game is Kill.Switch - incredible gameplay there (almost no story :p)

Hey thanks GTJ. Those both look pretty good, and cheap, too.

Anyone else?

The last two games I bought, and that I'd actually recomend, were:

Kill Switch - First person shooter game. Pretty intense and easy to pick up and leave when your schedule permits.

True Crime. Streets of LA - Pretty cool game. Decent story line and has at least 3 different story endings depending on how you play the game. It's kind of like Grand Theft Auto, but it's a bit more indepth with it's fighting, driving and shooting contols. I've found this game holds my interest much more than GTA did.
It also "auto saves" quite frequently so if you need to put it down in a hurry it's not a big issue and picking up play again is a snap as you can choose from your "auto saves" as to where you would like to pick up.

Overall, some decent games. 👍

I HIGHLY suggest Ratchet and Clank. It's an extremely good platformer (the best by far I've ever played). It's realatively long but not so long as to bore you. The story is good and entertaining. Also tons and tons of stuff you can do once you finsh the game (some of it's pretty hard to do). It has some puzzles but none that will piss you off b/c they're hard.

This is an awesome game. Go buy it and Jak and Daxter. They're both pretty (extremly) cheap. If you buy both I don't think it'll even cost as much as a brand new game. Around $40

I saw both Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter on Xplay at some time or another. Thanks for reminding me of them. They'll both go on my holiday list.

Pako: I'll have to try that link at home. It's not working here.

Sorry about that:
Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Publisher: Ubisoft Developer: Ubisoft Genre: Adventure

I'm waiting to get this one....I was a big fan of Prince of Persia from waaaaaaay back, in fact, I don't even remember what system I originally played it on.

Just don't make the mistake of buying the sequel to Jak and Daxter, Jak II - Renegade. It's a downwards evolution...

I did that mistake, Bought Jak II, and I sold it 3 days after the purchase..

I just picked up Harry Potter: Quidditch World Cup as a rental, and amazingly, I'm loving it. There's a suprising amount of depth, so you want to play, but it's not too hard, so you can get back into it quick. I'd rent it before you buy it to see if it's your cup of tea.

But yeah, Jak and Daxter is awesome.

Sure Jak and Daxter and Rachet and Clank are both very good games. :D

If you into another racing game I suggest Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2. Great arcade racer, that you can find to a cheap price.

Another game i like very much and use to relax with is SSX (snowboarding). It's relative old, but still has good graphics, can be found very cheap and got that catching racing aspect  (don't know if that's an English word).

Mark of Kri - You play as a tribal style warrior dude. Has a cool feature where you swing your aura around to select the opponent you want to face at a specific time, it lets you choose up to 4 I believe, for all the buttons on the right side of the controller.

Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven - This one has the same story line as the first, just the levels and the graphics are updated. It's a ton of fun, especially if you like ninjas.

Enter The Matrix - Not only was the gameplay really cool, but the scenes you play help fill in some blanks in the movie series. Naobi or Ghost, two different scenarios, lots o' fun.

ESPN Xgames Snowboarding - Killer graphics, make your own player ability, lots of stuff to do. You can also get sponsors.

World Tour Soccer - I would say self-explanatory. Soccer games are pure fun once you get the nack of them.

If I could be of more service mile, please, give me a call.

I fully agree that ESPN snowboarding is a great game. It's the most realistic snowboarding game ever made, a must buy. However, Enter the Matrix was given a low score by just about everyone who reviewed the game. I rented it, and I could see why. It has very repetitive gameplay, and it's only worth it if your a huge Matrix fan. Also, Mark of Kri is a fantastic game with unique gameplay, and fantastic graphics.

Furthermore, I would suggest picking up R - Racing Evolution, which comes out on Dec 19th in the US. If you like GT3, then this is the closest thing to it, that's going to be out, until GT4. Here's some info on the game, it looks great.;)

Ace Combat 4

Great to pick up and play for 10 mins or so or you can sit there and play it all night. Awesome graphics, fun gameplay.
Very cool game, plus its cheap

You wont be dissapointed with it. Great reviews from everyone.

Awesome suggestions. Thank you. I'm going to check out several of these. I've already told my wife I want Jak and Daxter in my stocking. Now we wait.

I might rent Ace Combat this weekend. That looks awesome. I've wanted to try out a flying game for a while now.

Holy Crap! I forgot about Ace Combat 4. Don't rent it. I know you'll like it. That game is awesome! The graphics left me speachless. The missions are fun and there are a huge amount of planes and different color schemes for each. The thing that makes it good for me is that I bought it off a friend (that said he couldn't beat it. retard) for $10!!

That is an awesome game milefile. Simply buy it (it's cheap too)

If you want to get a good RPG, and you liked if you played, and liked Xenogears on the PS1, I would say get Xenosaga. And if you haven't played xenogears on the PS1, I would say that you should get that also, and play both of them.

may i suggest Silent Hill 2 or 3?

horror thats challenging but not gratuitous or childish (ala resi evil) and with an intellegent story line and you can save quite often, pick it up when you want and drop it when your busy...

if your playing it on your own at night just remember to wear your favourite brown pants...

graphics are decent too....i reccomend SH2 over SH3 coz its a longer game and its platinum now only 20 bucks..

I plan to get Socom Us Navy Seals and Ace Combat 4 this weekend.

Ace Combat 4 was $10.00 at Best Buy, and Socom was 17.99 without the headset at Target.

I played the game demo for Silent Hill 3, and it was a lot of fun, but then again, I like the Resident Evil Series. Well, all but Veronica X.

I hear good things about Sly Cooper and the Thievious Raccoonus. I never tried it myself, though.

Don't laugh, I bought Q-Ball: Billiards Master about a year ago for $4.99 at Best Buy. The game is a lot of fun, and very well made with great graphics, if you dig pool. I play it all the time when I get bored with GT3. My boys love it too. It has lessons if you need them, plus cheats to help you if you need it. The cheats let you see where the Q ball goes, and where the ball you aim for goes before you hit the Q ball. It's a good teaching aid if you want to learn more about the different types of pool games.

Well I got Jak and Daxter for Christmas. I like it a lot. It's just a great game with good graphics, a good backstory, and and a good variety of challenging tasks. I'm about 20% through it. When I finish it I'm going to borrow Ratchet and Clank from my father-in-law (yes, my son's grandfather plays video games :p ).

So for those of you who've played it I have a couple questions...

1. Did you ever catch the sculptor's muse?

2. How many tries did it take for you to get that one power cell in the Hidden Precursor City, the one where you have to make it go up through the pipe and then race up the moving platforms before it returns to its cylinder?

3. And this one is sorta my own problem but... when I came up out of the Hidden Precursor City I accidentally went back down. Now the part of the city I floated up in is on the surface and I am down there. Is there another way to get up?

Seriously if you like RPG's, you have to get
Everquest Online Adventures...
A great game and fun to play, be warned if you play it you will become very addicted.
