Sundays are for Gentlemen Racing...
Sign-ups Open!

rjzqeq0a5ors7vq40g66.jpg

After the great race we had yesterday I'm now opening a new thread with hope that we can continue this relaxed racing event for mature drivers.

Our first race had 15 drivers starting, and 9 finishing the 20 lap long race at Suzuka. Top guys posted times as low as 2.06.x sec with racing hard and stock GT300 cars, impressive!

As the topic implies these events are not all about fast lap times, no it's about clean and friendly racing. You do not have to be awesome to race with us, you just need to be good enough to not crash others and drive with respekt. Never ever overtake if you risk hitting your opponent.

We are currently running test races to figure out what regulations best suits us, our first event we used racing hard tires and week penalties and low damage. The next event will have some differences in regulations, more details will be posted later.

Each event will hold a maximum of 16 drivers, you will have to signup during the week to be on the list for current weeks race. Drivers who have finished races with us before will have priority over new drivers.

Regulations

Most guys are running GT300 cars, but we are open for all SuperGT cars that fit within our regulations.

Be aware, these regulations may change, it's all up to the drivers.

Performance Limit: 541pp (was 590 before 1.07)
Power: 355hp
Weight: 1010kg
Tires: Racing Medium
TCS: Off
SRF: Off
ASM: Off
Active Steering: Off
Driving Line: Off
ABS: Optional
Damage: Light
Grip Reduction: Real
Boost: Off

Pit Strategy is up to each driver, no mandatory pit-stops.

Your Opinion

If you are racing with us your opinion matters. To make these events as enjoyable as possible for everyone you should post your suggestions for improvements so we can discuss and adopt what ever the majority feels suits us.

I´m not sure if that time suits me, I´d prefer Sundays 19.00GMT. Because I have many kids :), its almost hopeless
trying to drive when they´re hanging in the wheel...

I will make the case for keeping damage light. Especially at a track where any mistake means wall contact. We're doing this for fun. How is it fun to have your 20 lap race ruined by a mistake on lap 1. It's not fun for the person who has to limp around the track at 50kph while the whole field laps them. Most will just quit. And it's not fun for the other drivers to have 1 less competitor. In the last race half the field quit even without damage. This is a relaxed and fun event. Not "hardcore". Let's keep as many cars on the track as possible.

Good and valid point!

Light or full damage, what do you other guys think?

Fair point on this track. I like the idea of full damage because it makes people drive more carefully and take less risks. It also means that as fatigue sets in towards the end of the race and mistakes are made, the ending becomes more exciting. I made numerous errors on the first few laps in the last race and felt I should have been punished more than I was. But I do agree that it might be uncalled for to have full damage on this particular track.

I think tracks like Tokyo with walls either side should keep the damage light, but others like Suzuka & Fuji could have heavy damage, but see what the others think.

I think it sounds like a good idea to decide damage level depending on track.

With a little late braking on the long straight on Tokyo you are in for a long limp back to pits. like 2:30 something. So if the majority agrees I'll change damage level to light for this race.

It seems that in most online “series” are geared to the hardcore. The fastest drivers get the most respect, and their opinions carry the most weight.

This series is for normal drivers. The fast guys are welcome of course. But we need to keep it as inviting as possible for normal players.

If someone can explain to me how damage makes the game more fun, then I will gladly consider their points. But from my perspective damage does nothing but make the game less fun. The only reasons I have heard for it are realism and to stop punters. There are more than enough hardcore “realistic” series already. And we can handle any punters.

We should leave damage light for all races in this series.

Damage is now changed to light.

As long as everyone behaves as last time we wont need full damage.

I am 62 years old and would love to join in on the fun.. I'm a level 24 right now and have finished all but one of the expert section (need a Chapparral j2 to finish it). I'm not sure what a GT300 car is or where to get one. What time is the race on Sunday I live in the est timezone.

Thanks
Butch

It wont need any hop ups. We arz pretty much running stock with exception RM tires. I'll send you one when i get home. If you don't care for the racing just send it back, if you want to keep it we can figure something out later. Deal?

Sounds great to me.. I probably have a car already just not sure..

For clarification, any race car that makes less than 345hp and weighs more than 1000kg is a GT300 for this series.

There are a few in the new car dealership, and several others that come up in the ucd.

Actually the HP limit will be raised a few hp due to apparently GT300 cars can go over 345hp, my Garaiya went from 333 -> 351hp after an oil change yesterday.

So new limit it 355hp (or 354, can't remember what number you can choose in the setup)

Hello there.. I'm new here.. Just got me a DFP wheel and have been using it for a week now :) Can I Join please?
