I personally greatly prefer the flowing, lower GT500 car look over the more boxy DTM shape. I also don't favour the DTM style rear wing and side winglets/dive planes. I think we'll see the how drastic the difference is when the GT-R is revealed. Anyway, its just my opinion.
 
The cars are 10cm less wide, but they have around the same downforce. DTM weigh 1000kg compared to 1100+ ballast for GT500. DTM tires are not on the same level as SuperGT though. So even though they're about a second slower than lmp2 in DTM the tires on the GT500s will more than make up for it.

I agree. Kinda disappointed by it. Ill be interested to see how it does against against the competition.
 
Oh wow! They did an excellent job at making it UGLY!! Hope the teams get creative with the liveries and bring some beauty out of the poor thing...
 
I saw the first picture and thought it looked horrible. These new images have just restored my faith in Super GT, I think it looks a million times better than current DTM cars. That in ARTA colours would look absolutely perfect:drool: I have to say though that the GTR will show us how it really looks, but I have a feeling it won't be too bad. In terms of moving forward, Making them look like DTM cars probably wasn't the best thing, but I am sure they will try and match the style of the current cars for the new season. I want a GTR and some liveries now:D
 
The design language is very similar, particularly the roof line and the grille.. Sure the Civic doesn't have a huge rear wing or diveplanes, but you get the point.

No. I don't. Theyre fwd front engine cars based on sedans. This is based on a sports car with a clean slate design with a mid engine layout. If it wasn't an Acura/Honda there wouldn't be the comparisons.
 
I honestly don't even see the link with the NSX prototype that was shown a few days ago. It's got the rear roofline/trunkline/light combination that makes it look like it's an Accord with a few inches taken off the beltline, as a "silhouette" racer should look.

It's even got the same kink in the side windows.

The shorter hood longer rear has to do with looks. What's 'condescending'? I don't agree the race car resembles the Accord or Civic, so you take offense to it? Why so sensitive?

I don't know if its just me, but does this new NSX looks to be a left-hand drive car instead of the usual right-hand drive. More closer to a DTM car if that's the case.

It'd make sense, since the production car is an Acura produced in the U.S.

My thoughts exactly, Fred. The New NSX GT has a similar design language with the 2013 Accord especially the shape of the front headlights and the rear design.

I put up the wrong Accord picture, yours further shows exactly what I was on about. Look at the taillights, they're exactly the same!
 
Its just a prototype. The taillights go across the entire rear of the car on the NSX. Those headlights are just a strip of led's in black casing. The production car hasn't even been shown so there will be changes, plus theres no reason to make all the details on a test car.
 


Onboard the BRZ at Sugo. Mighty cornering ability in this machine. 3 poles from 4 races, its the fastest GT300 car EVER. Too bad they aren't able to reproduce that speed in the race.
