They are great cars and its a solid class, but which one is the best and why ? I have about 6 in my garage and they all look similar to me. The Honda Takata 03 has won me more money online than any other car in my garage. But what about the others? And are any of them rare ? discuss please !

If you want the fastest (in my opinion) is the Nissan Xaniv Fairlady from the NCD.

Ive found the older NSX JGTC's faster than its opponents. As I read on a test somewhere on the site, every NSX has different characteristics, so you have to find the best one suited your driving style yourself. Takata Dome or Mobil 1 is the ones I've found the most stable, but look out for that oversteer! :P

If you are in an unregulated GT500 server, the epson nsx / '08 GTR's are likely to win because they have ~720 hp (maxed out), whereas the standard GT500s top out well below that. They also have a crapload of torque so even when they are limited to a lower PP they will still probably beat you.

Why tune them up?? They are GT500 car so drive it stock. For me it's stupid to tune race car, because I want to drive em like in real life and in real life that car's have around 500 HP.

All models drive pretty much the same, but as some of the members said, the NSX accelerates a bit faster. Older models also seem to have looser regulations than current ones so they may perform a bit differently. But it depends on your driving style. For me I like driving the GT-R since it's quite smooth & consistent.

If you tune them, it all depends on your tuning ability. Right from the stock with just aero modification, the car that match the best my driving style is the calsonic GT-R. With tunning I dunno, probably the Z or a NSX. I've seen Takata dome NSX do crazy time on suzuka.

And I totally disagree with all model drives the same. NSX arent the same at all, tried them, the epson is way different then the arta.

The older NSX's, the '01 and '03 models in particular, tend to be the fastest (this is ignoring the Diablo). The older Skylines tend to be the slowest.

That's my experience, at least.

I'm partial to the Toyota Supra, the yellow one with the smiley face on the roof.

GT500 class is fun because unmodified they are all very close.
I would say as far as fastest in stock form these would be my picks:

Diablo
Mobil 1 NSX
Any of the premium GT-R's (older ones seem to be much slower)

Also I wouldn't modify them to get max power as this really destroys what a GT500 race is. IMO

I love them all and try to race regularly. Over a 50 lap race they all seem to perform about evenly. I race them with friends and we use them as we bought them...no mods.

Strictly speaking only the premium GT500 cars are Super GT, all the standard GT500 cars are from the older JGTC Series regulations.
For me the Xanavi Nismo Z '06 is the fastest Super GT GT500 car.

I've heard many people say that the Takata dome nsx is the best handling of all the nsx's, but the epson nsx is the fastest (of the nsx's). I haven't played GT5 in a while so I can't verify that. I do notice that the nsx's in general has the edge over the Nissan GT500 cars in the turns. The nsx's are a little more nimble, probably due to the MR drivetrain, but they are also a little less stable than the front engined Nissans.

I agree that they are all great. It just comes down to choosing a car that matches your driving style.

They are all great cars. It depends on what type of limits the host has set. Some are faster than others when you need to tune it down to a certain horse power, and then others are faster when you tune to certain PP level.

Experiment and find the one you are fastest in at different HP and PP settings.

the Lexus SC's are the worst for sure, NSX's accelerate hardest but can be touchy with the MR drivetrain, the GT-R's are all around fast and stable

There is a B-Spec event with the GT500 cars. I've run it a lot. I posted some results in the B-Spec forum. Basically...

NSXs > Z > GT-Rs > SC430

The Supras are around the GT-Rs. I forget which one is faster. And yes, some of the NSXs are faster than others.

Personally, i like the GT-Rs, they still feel very stable. The NSXs are mid-engined, and I'm just not good with a car that wants to swap ends. I am fastest in the Z car.
