this is a very anoying coarse for me. i have bronze on all the other super liscences but #8 is really killing me. I wont cheat to beat it but if there are any tips that any of you have then please help me out. I am finifhed will all the races that don't need the s liscence and im get BORED of gt3!!! i need much help.

I personally thought this one was easy but the main thing you must learn with this course is how to manage alot of power, and how to control oversteer. May I suggest doing this track with manual transmission.

Now try this, if you have trouble with oversteer never drop below 2nd gear. When making a turn, make it in 3rd or 2nd, that should help your car not to accelrate to quickly around those hairpins.

i usually have it off, which, in some cases, isn't help.

This is the license test, you cannot mess with the cars config. I did this test with auto tranny so it can be done. Just surge the throttle around turns and dont mash it until you are pointing straight with NO momentum will also have to get good at snaking thru turns with little or no braking and really finding the best line. All I can say is just sit with it for like an hour and keep racing the ghost.

The answer is to be kind to the gas and get good traction while accelerating through the turns. I think this is the whole point to this test, learning to control wheelspin to prevent loss of speed. Other than that, it's the usual hit the turns right stuff.

Have you beat it yet? If not, just keep trying. What is your best time so far? I have bronze on almost all license tests except for a Gold on the S license with the Opel Speedster on Apricot Hill. I got it my first try!!!

I think I only have a couiple of gold licenses, the rest are bronze. This test was for me the hardest. I also found oversteer on the hairpins difficult. Keeping the car in 2nd gear as a minimum, sometimes I made it round in 3rd, helped a lot. :D

OK a little hint, to get past any race, or just simply make it easier, go into options and change driving type from simulation to begginer, i did race 7 onwards doing that. Especially when it came to racing the GT-one

hey sorry for not posting here for a while i have been on vacation. i have not beta this license yet but i havent really been trying since i was away. ur tips are useful, espicially about the manual thing. i tried it but my problem was that i just am not very fats at changing the gears. it did help with the turning but in the end my time was about the same. It did make it easier not to spin out through the race. MY best time is about 8 seconds off!!! that is pretty dicouraging considering i was trying for like an hour. I think ill put some real time into learning the manual. thanks agian for the tips. Also, i don't under stand the seting it to beginner thing. Maybe you could explain that in a little more detail. thankx again.

The Beginner Setting is only for the Logitech Wheel, so if he did better with it set to beginner then it was a psychological thing. Unless of course he is using the Logitech Wheel. I did this test with Auto, Keep trying, and remember, if you cant do it, then you wont be able to beat the S license required races, unless you use some insane car which you will undoubtedly do....

thanks forclarifying that civic i didn't think the beginer thing was doing anything. Ive got the manual a little better now. i got 6 seconds off. :) ive watched that demo so many times that im gonna puke. lol. any other tips would b nice. also could someone tell me when the best time to switch gears is. Do i red line, do it before, or right when it turns?

Trust me, use Auto, but I guess if you are doing better now, woth Manual why switch back. I used auto and was very close to silver after about 10 tries.

PS, always rev as high as possible, there are very few cars where this is detrimental. Most cars will keep trucking past the shift light, so I would hold on until you get very close to the actual fuel shutoff...

I hate when people use the same avatar because, sometimes you get to know someone by just glancing at their avatar. For instance I though BeeJall, was Dodzz who I know has 100%

Well gk46 your going to have trouble with #10! Well all i can say is choose MT Tranny and dont go below 3rd gear, so the car doesnt spin. thats for #10 but #8 not sure, its been a long time

lol the post i wish i posted. anyway i just cant finnish the race crashing into walls and stuff but when I do finish with no crashes im knock less then a second off my time at +5 seconds errr somthin like that ill beat this corse by next week

sry for not responding for a while. this race is still killing me. i have a couple qeustions and/or comments about ur posts. 12sec civic, in post # 13 u siad....

i don't use many of thes high tec crazy uncomprehendable words. could some clarify this message in english?

secondly, GTS-R man: i thought there were only 8 licences, but u said # 10. Do i not know omthing about this game or is this a typo?

Third, Meme: it anoys me that u tell me that there are a million other threads abut this. i wanted to start my own and not waste time looking for one that answers my questions. thank you.

Finally, poserhomeboy. I think we are in the same general place in beating this licence. if you get it then let me know caus ei wanna hear ur trick. After all this i think i have realized that this licence is just gonna require some skill.
As always, more tips are appretiated. Thanks again all.

Ok, I will try and explain this like I am talking to a 6 year old.

There are 2 main points of interest on your tachometer (The dial that tells what RPMs the engine is revving at) One is the spot where the manufacturer has set the "Redline" this is where they recommend that you shift or else you will damage the engine, it is visible on the tachometer with a Red-Line. When you race with Automatic tranny it will always shift right at the red line.

The other point of interest is the "Feul Shutoff" This is programmed into the computer of the car to cut off the engines fuel supply at a certain RPM because revving any higher would severely damage the engine, There is no spot on the actual tachometer to show you where this is but the only way to tell is to hold R2 when accelerating and wait until the engine starts to surge. When racing, you want to always rev the engine as close to the "Fuel Shutoff" as possible.

Also, when you buy a "Racing Chip" or "Engine Balance" or most of the engine NA Stage upgrades, it will reset the cars computer and it will usually have a higher "Fuel Shutoff" point after you have done some upgrades.

If you race with auto trans, and you want to keep revving past the "Red-Line" and rev all the way to the "Fuel Sutoff" (The higher you rev the faster you go, no matter what, so you always want to rev as far past the "red-line" as possible and as close to the "Fuel shutoff") hold R2 until you reach the point right before the "fuel shutoff", which you will have to remember where this is in your head. let it go right before you are at the spot where the engine will surge.

Go out and experiment with finding the Fuel Shutoff points on certain cars you have upgraded and tell me how much faster your 0-400m's are when you rev to the red-line and when you rev to the fuel shutoff point.

I got bronze in S8 after several tries with auto tranny but the one thing was that for all the turns I left the gas & brake for the momentum of the car would move it and slam on the gas as soon as I saw a straight line. I guess this is common knowledge but I found it more useful here than anywhere else.

Fuel cutoffs suck, they interrupt fun times in real life too (*grumbles about his WRX's 7250 rpm cutoff). :)

A friend of mine's brother has a 1992 300ZX Twin Turbo, it is very fun to drive, but he has disabled his fuel shutoff, it is very funny because when his little brother drives it (my friend) he revs it up to 8,000 or sometimes as high as 8,800. It does make the car seem alot faster and the turbo gauge doesnt let off for the whole way up to 8,800rpm. I have a feeling that the engine wont last as long as it should,

Yep, BeeJall, I just passed the IA lisence. It's a real tuffy. And i just got the game like a month ago. And just like a few days ago I got the Rally Lisence. I've never tried the S lisence though, it pobably is really hard. I've tried the on with the trueno and it's really hard.

Hello all,

I too struggled a bit with S8 licence, but managed it eventually... after a wee rest (24 hours), I tried it again and did it first time (it's like riding a bike....) :)

What I want to know is, since you can't fiddle with the settings at all, how the blazes do you get a gold on S8??

I'd consider myself pretty an old hand at the GT series now, and know Monaco like it is printed on the back of my hand, but I'll be darned if I can even get close to the gold...

Any expert suggestions?

Mars...

That's so good it would be handy in the Car Physics thread in the auto forum, I'll copy and paste it with full credit to you 12sec:honda:Civic

gk46, you don't really need to worry about using the gears on S8 - just leave it in 3rd, and it will be pretty much fine. You'll hit 4th in the tunnel, and then again on the way to the swimming pool, but otherwise, 3rd gear is your man.

wow, a tip that acually helped. thanks alot 12sec. civic. i cut my time down to 3 sec off (still not that close). i think if i practice this a little then it will really help. Also, i tried the 3rd gear all the way thing and it was much easier but it hurt my time by about a second. i think in some places ur better off useing the fuel shutoff thing in a lower gear.

YES!!!!!!!! I was having a hard time with this test for awhile and I just passed it last night. OMG the replay was so funny......you know you get a ghost down to like one second off and you know you just have to beat it but I got lucky doing these massive powerslides around three parts of the track where you shouldn't do this.....and then just beat that ghost at the end....I HATE that car! It feels like it has GEO Metro rear tires with bleach on them.....This test is hard for people like me with a 'lead foot.' Onto the the rest of the game!!!!!!
