@Jump_Ace -- You can certainly set up pipes or doors to kick the player back to the beginning of a section if they choose the wrong one (just set the exits up in the air so the player falls and can't go back through), but I doubt we could do the looped scrolling aspect of 8-4, or the related "pick a path" puzzle in 4-4 or 7-4.

I'm holding out hope, but not much. I think we'll just have to get creative

I need to find creative ways for my boss fights in order to make them mandatory. That jr. airship level was a great example.

For my Mario Adventure, I'm making each world have its own theme like the normal Mario Bros. using tools and backgrounds.

World 1 - Grassland
World 2 - Underground
World 3 - Jungle (Using some tools to make lots of trees and have enemies like Wigglers)
World 4 - Underwater
World 5 - Sky
World 6 - Castle (featuring the fake Final Boss)
World 7 - Haunted
World 8 - World Remix (another fake Final Boss)
World 9 - Airship (containing the real Final Boss)

So the game has already sent out review copies and it has been proven that you can change the clock to unlock things much quicker. Which I am happy about :). Though I'll be unlocking them a bit slower as I actually do want to get used to all of my tools before I get them all but at least I don't have to wait for a whole day :D.

Though you can't search for levels by name and instead by an ID but I am not really caring about that as I'll likely be playing other peoples levels either at random or one of the levels made by you guys.

I saw that ahile ago.

I can't wait to see what other people can make with this game.

Judging by what this guys says. The timer editing function will be an unlockable feature.

I just saw Sonic images for this game and it just made go out and buy a Sonic amiibo.

Now I'll recreate Sonic Levels for Mario Maker.

I'm also planning on remaking SM3DL levels into a 2D scenario.

I was able to get my hands on a sweet demo at a shop though only for 3 minutes.

My brother took control of the editor and rushed it by placing a Giant Goomba, Giant Koopa, Warp Pipe and a Bowser between each other (though Bowser was pretty far apart) thinking it was unbeatable.

I proved him wrong though a funny thing was he originally designed it as a castle stage but moved to overworld but he didn't know that the Boss Bridge got removed so I had to go up and through a miniature space on the moving platform .

Great fun, will be had in 7 days :D.

Question to anyone picking this game up.

Wikk you guys be time travelling to unlock everythung or are you going to wait the whole 9 Days.

You could have it that there are 2 doors and 1 sends you back to the beginning of the stage.

I unlocked everything and I don't regret it. I've been taking things at my own pace; I'm now working on my first level with an underwater section.

I like the game but as I was worried about I just find the 2D mario games very uninspiring gameplay wise. Hopefully I will find a bit more enjoyment from it in time.

I think that is kinda the whole point of a 2D Mario game though, It really goes for the people who like to do things basic.

I'm working on that too for my Mario Adventure (World 3 to be exact).

I find the Water levels to have the most potential for big open stages, due to Marios movement on them.

I finally got my 2nd Medal :).

I've uploaded the first 5 Worlds of my Super Mario Maker but I was wondering if you would be interest in a little exploration challenge. My levels have hidden paths and options that can lead to new areas which can contain 1-Up Mushroom. I want to see how much 1-Up Mushrooms people can find. Kinda reminiscent to the Star Coins.

Here is the code to 1-1, you can find the rest on my account once you typed the code:

Here is the checklist:

1-2 - 0/3
1-3 - 0/3
1-4 - 0/1

2-2 - 0/4
2-3 - 0/4
2-4 - 0/2
3-1 - 0/5
3-2 - 0/5
3-3 - 0/10
3-4 - 0/4

5-3 - 0/6
5-4 - 0/6

Congrats on 50 stars!

I've played up through 3-4 so far, and found all the 1ups except for one in 3-4. I got the one with the propeller mushroom and the two by the door, but I'm stumped on the fourth.

I actually don't think I placed it in a fair place, I don't blame you for not finding it yet :(.

I had to patch 2 Levels (4-3 and 5-1) as other people and myself had found glaring issues that lead to cheap losses.

Also, I miss counted the 1-Up Mushrooms on 4-3. The checklist will be updated.

Also, may I ask what you think of my Custom Bosses?

Placing Bowser Jr. on the track platform was a clever fight, and the room of cannons works as a "haha got you" moment without being unfair. 👍

An update is coming on November 4 and it's pretty nice.
  • Checkpoints!
  • Contextual mushroom/flower powerup
  • More "Gnat Attack" for an extra challenge
  • Official Nintendo maker list
  • "Event Courses" for special events

These are some REALLY nice updates :)

Honestly, I stopped playing. It is not the fact that I lost interest in the game because me interest is still very High but I'm pretty much in Level Making Block now

All my game time is going to the original Xenoblade right now, but it will be nice to have this to come back to later. Checkpoints undoubtedly multiply the appeal of longer, more involved, and challenging levels.

I really do want to play this game again, but I'll wait until my level block is over and fix up my levels, thanks to the checkpoints :D.

I wanted to like SMM but I'm just not a big enough fan of Mario to enjoy it enough. :( I just really want Mario Tennis and Xeno X at this point.

The new update have really spiced up the game for me.

I'm thinking about making levels based of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos thanks to the new Coin Key system.

It's a fantastic update to the game, the best one yet IMO. Just these few additions open up so many creative possibilities. I want to start uploading levels again but I've been mired with depression these days so it's difficult to have that creative spark.

Not only can you make Croc inspired stages, you can actually make proper Crash Bandicoot Worlds, with its Warp Zone :D

I went back in reinvented my Mario Adventure to try and make it better and more playable. Using Key Coins and Checkpoints Flags to my advantage.

I currently have Worlds 1 (Mushroom Fields) and 2 (Sky Block) uploaded.

1-1 code: 4947-0000-0283-D0A0

Check it out if you are free :)

Try and get all the Key Coins so you can get to the top of the flagpole or in Castle levels (rooms filled with 1-UP Shrooms)

NEWS: Super Mario Maker is getting a 3DS release in December, however it is more targeted towards local multiplayer instead of online...

I have uploaded World 3 of my NEW Mario Adventure plus some other levels to try out :). Sorry it took so long, I raged quit after accidentally deleting 3-3 and had to rebuild it

3-1 Code: ED8E-0000-02B2-6A25

Find all the key coins for the top of the gflagpole :p

Question: Are any of you guys interested in the 3DS version of Mario Maker? I might get it eventually, making levels on the go sounds relatively neat.
