I rented it on wednesday to see if it would be worth buying.

My favorite character is Ike, while Stiggy likes Link.

we usually do 1-1 on Final Destination it's really cool to see two sword fighters go against each other like that. We were running at each other and when we went to hit we did it at the same time so it looks like those cheesy Chinese movies where they jump into the air hit each other land and then die.

we are at 66% where we are attacking those gates with the multi colored versions of the characters inside. we found most of the gates and dispelled a lot of the blackness but we are still stuck on it because we can't find all the gates.

FINALLY Gamefly got me my coppy earlier this week, after my initial copy was lost in the mail. I have grown very suspicious of someone in my post office as only Gamefly stuff gets lost.

Anyway, I have played it a good bit on my own and haven't really explored everything. I'm still learning the ins and outs of the game, but I am enjoying it thoroughly.

I just need to unlock some people. I haven't doen as much as I could yet because I also bought the Metal Gear Solid Essentials Collection.

I've played a few matches with Omnis since we registered each other's codes. He's pretty good, though one time I'm sure he was either quite drunk or was letting a younger family member play. He spent half of one match standing around.

You're talking about the Great Maze? On the map (pause to see it), every dot is either a character/boss battle or warp door. If you see any dots that aren't connected to a line, they're either the entrance to a new area or a character/boss you haven't defeated yet.

Word of warning....for the last boss in the game (i won't spoil the name) get a friend to do it with you......even on easy my friend and i took like 5 tries before we beat him...

Or either we suck that much

Anyone know when this game is released in Australia? I want it bad.

Wait, the Sub-space Emissary final boss or Classic mode boss. Because the classic mode boss is pretty well known, and lame, I would think.

Probably about the same time as Rock Band. EU and Australia are getting the shaft on some good games lately.

Anyway, I am about halfway through the Sub-space Emissary. Probably more as it says 50% but I haven't gotten all the hidden items. I just beat the Halberd Bridge mission.

And I unlocked Snake and was extremely disappointed. All his special moves are too slow. Sure they are powerful, but any halfway decent player can hit you in the time it takes to pull out a rocket launcher or bury a mine. Oh well.

The Subspace Emissary final boss. And I agree, I think Master Hand and Crazy Hand are the easiest to beat in Brawl, out of the three games.

The game is deceptively balanced, I've found. Characters that seem to suck can be used to great effect by those experienced with them, as proven online (and I don't just mean move-spamming).

Just look at Soul Calibur for slow and deliberate = win.

My friend and my brother can both use slower characters to great effect. My play style just doesn't work with it so I sit with Marth, Shiek/Zelda, Zero Suit Samus, Pit, and Metaknight as my favorites. Snake has some nice setups though, not gonna lie. And the game does seem more balanced than Melee...

The Subspace Emissary final boss.
OK, I just got to the maze in Emissary last night, and believe he has been revealed to me now.

Maybe I just am better with fast characters. I agree the slower characters have balance as when you land the hit it is powerful, but my timing with slower characters is just off and Snake seems to be one of the slowest as far as special moves go.

I haven't done online yet but I did some spectator, realized I would be extremely outmatched outside of playing friends. Definitely seen a good amount of move spamming and cheap tactics. Do you get anything for winning online? I'm just trying to figure out what the point of move spamming would be other than to get cheap, almost meaningless wins

I have gotten to the point where if I am just playing a regular brawl I will always choose RANDOM.

For some reason it has been making me play as Pikachu a lot and I have actually gotten quite well using him. The Block and Roll is your best friend when playing with him.

One character I can't get used to is Olimar. To me he just has a different way of playing with him.

Well what are your best/favorite characters in the game guys?

I'll start off by saying wolf and ike are probably my best and favorite(you gotta love ike's crazy strong attacks :))

My characters used, from most often to least often:
Samus - Has been my main since the first game (though I first started with Pikachu).
Zero Suit Samus - A useful alternative, once I discovered the potential of side+B.
Meta Knight - Racks up lots of damage and looks cool doing it. Can't deliver a K.O.
King Dedede - I like him, but need more practice before I can take on players that are actually good.

Nope, people just want to win no matter what. It's not that hard to find legitimate matches in "With Anyone," though -- just expect about half of the rooms to be three Ikes doing his Up+B and smash attacks.

The one that stuck out most in my mind was a guy playing with Kirby. He would knock them off the side of the platform and then jump and do his special down move to knock them beneath the platform. Then he would just fly his way back up.

The only time it didn't work was on someone playing with Fox. Fox would just do his Up+B move and send Kirby flying.

Personal note: I finally beat Sub-Space Emissary. Four tries at the final boss fight by myself on normal difficulty. Once I figured out his moves and the way to avoid them I was able to win on my last character while sustaining zero damage.

If I am correct that just leaves Toon Link and Wolf to unlock.

Also, finally found a Wavebird at an EB Games, so I can play Brawl farther back than five feet. I had gotten so used to playing wireless that I nearly pulled my Wii off its shelf a few times.

My best characters, so far:
1) Samus
2) Lucario
3) Zero Suit Samus
4) Kirby

I haven't had a good chance to try everyone out yet, so I am sure this will change.

Heh, I thought I was a well below average player. All I've done is go through Subspace Emissary on Normal on a friend's Wii. Beat the final boss on my second try with my fourth man. I find it best to use the characters that can jump several times for the average platforming level, and to use the larger, heavier characters against the bosses, especially the final one.

Brawl is certainly my favorite Wii game as of now, though I'm getting a little bored of the same stuff that was in Melee (still awesome, and it gets a definate 10/10 in my book).
My top 5 characters in the game are:
5. Ike: (he's a very strong dude, but I tend to play super sudden death matches, where his attacks tend to be too slow to be effective, at least to me)
4. Solid Snake: (snake is a fun character to use, but his stealth movements make him quite slow and smash attacks like the RPG take a while to commence. Of course, there are a lot of cool aspects to him like the guided missle launcher, and the Shadow Moses Island secret is really neat)
3. Fox: (Fox is a very well balanced character. He is fast, powerful, and has a devastating final smash. If only I could use the reflector right...)
2. Wolf: (Wolf steals the #2 spot by being basically a more powerful version of Fox. His final smash doesn't last as long, but it's power makes up for it)
...
1. Marth: (Marth has been my favorite character since Melee. He's fast, agile, and powerful with a blade. This makes him deadly in SSD matches, and I have consistent wins with him in every type of match. He is my all around champion fighter, and I almost never lose with him)

Marth sucks. That's why his Final Smash is so devastating.

My favorite characters are Wolf and Toon Link.

I didn’t notice this game has not yet been released in Europe and Australia. I’ve played it quite a few times during the past few weeks at a friend’s house (Turns out that he has the US version). It has some nice improvements over the previous version.

I use to only use Pikachu since the first Smash bros on N64… but now with the addition of Sonic, I now have two characters

My community college had a day of games. One of them was Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It was my first time seeing the action up front. The series never fails to impress. Something I'll say immediately is that Pit (Kid Icarus protagonist) is an amazing fighter to use. He's got the kind of mix of archery and swordplay that makes him very dynamic in battle. I have never played Kid Icarus before, but seeing him in action kind of makes me want to play the classic NES title. I even like the music for him as it's based on Level 1 of Kid Icarus (I know by watching some YouTube videos). * There's this fellow named Ike that reminds me a lot of Marth and Roy (I'm saddened not to see Roy in SSBB), only more powerful. Ike is rather slow, yet powerful. * The team battle aspect was good, but it wasn't until I convinced them to do a free-for-all.

I didn't get to play this. I was glad to see that you can still use the GameCube controller to play the game instead of having the Wii-Mote and stuff. Looks like if you liked the first two Smash Bros. games, you're probably going to love this one as well.

A few months later, and now I'm starting to think that Brawl kind of sucks.
I definitely tired of it after a while, but when I was spending 100% of my gaming time on it for maybe three weeks after it came out, that was bound to happen. Nowadays I've picked it up again and am having just as much fun. Online seems to have settled down, and I'm casually playing the game more often than I had with Melee.

At its core it is just a fighting game, and no fighting game can keep you drawn in non-stop.

It's why I tend to only pick one or two fighting games every generation of systems and stop there.

I recently started up again to finally get all the extra characters (I still need Jiggly and Wolf). This game has so many extras. I JUST now figured out about stickers in the Subspace mode! DUH!

My girlfriend has a Wii so she was bugging me about getting Sonic, I finally showed her how to power-up your moves and now I wish I hadn't; now she gives me a run for my money.

SSBB was my favorite wii game when i first got it i played for 9 hours strait and got to the final level in subspace. then the next day i finished the game off. Wolf is my fav character and will always be.

in a few days, i'm getting the internet for the Wii all set up, will join...

I've played Brawl since the release.
Still trying to get that one last sticker...
Anyway, I use a lot of characters, but my favorite has to be Lucario.
Aerial game = killer.

Is it ok to do that?

I know smash scene is dead by this time. But if anyone (IF there is) feel free to add me. PM for friend code though.

I prefer Melee over brawl. Brawl is a bit noob friendly.
Well Im also in the SmashWorldForum so I can give a challenge on Brawl :sly:
