If anyone wants to add my PSN ID, please do. I'm usually on in the evenings after 6 P.M. Eastern Time U.S. and in the afternoon/evenings on weekends.

I originally ordered SCC back in Mid-November of last year, and only played it briefly. The other day I decided to try it again, and I am enjoying it quite a bit more than I did initially for some reason

I know the most recent patch supposedly didn't make any changes to the physics engine, but for some reason, the driving feels much better than it did before. I've got a pretty steep learning curve though. In some cars, I'm fairly close to the pace on the leaderboards, and in others, I'm not even in the ballpark  But the game is very enjoyable, and I'm glad I decided to try it again, and can't believe I neglected it for so long :dunce:

You're not imagining this though. For some reason the AI is much more competitive in some cars than in others.

Thanks Mario 👍 I've got a lot to learn in SCC though.
This game is very fun, but very difficult as well.
I feel like a beginner all over again :scared:

Hi Carl, I noticed the same thing as you where in some cars you can be very competitive on the leaderboard and in others nowhere near. I know that whatever car you would drive or I for that matter, should be just as competitive as in any car. The explanation I have come up with is that online leaderboard times can be registered during online races. :boggled: Meaning draft/slipstream/bump drafting is affecting laptimes. There is no way possible to match some of the times without slipstream. 👍

That may indeed have something to do with it. But something else to consider is that the leaderboards in this game were wiped clean. Twice. The last time just a few months back. And there simply aren't a lot of people playing. And in a particular car combo on a particular track, there may only be a few dozen people who even have a time logged in and they may be on standard settings. There's no doubt that if a group of fast guys pick a particular car and particular track, the competition will drive the laps times down.

The laptimes I know of which can only be matched with slipstream are on the oval circuits.

Generally, SCC is very uncompetitive. In the majority of cases, the only leaderboard pages which have laps close to the limit would be ones where some event has taken place (typically one of the GTP events), and also most of the 'Lap Record' pages.

Although the wiping of the leaderboards probably didn't help, if they weren't wiped I don't think it would have made much of a difference.

Thank you for your replies. I do enjoy arcade racers but simulation racers are really my preferred type. And I do consider myself pretty good at them, judgingby where I place on the online leaderboards anyway. Thanks again, and I'll try and pick this up tomorrow.

thanks to all that i had races with last night .
we were only 2 short of a 16 player lobby being full , and it was mostly kept very clean.
it was a 1st time for me in the f50 , and i loved it , a very stable car.

Yeah the F50 is a quality car. In SCC, I'd say I prefer the F40 handling/cornering, but the F40 gear shifting makes it very awkward - F50 much better shifting, and very similar handling.

yeah i do prefer the f50 over the f40.
every one in the lobby had a default setting to keep an even playing field and it felt just right even without a tune up

Missed You by an hour or so...:indiff:
But even later we had very good races in Hairy-Dave lobby.:)

Two of my favourite cars in the game...good handling, great looks and sound...but the F50 really brakes much better and has that beautiful blue windshield.:) Although I've heard that someone founds it distracting:p;)

Last night we had a good race night online with SCC, 4-6 drivers on a monday night, not bad, but not much. It is really a shame, because when racing on Spa with my 355 I realised how good this game is. I hope that after the hype of F1 and may be GT5, this game is still being played, unless Eutechnyx come out with a sequel.

Too bad I didn't manage to play last night Minardi:indiff:
I've now set my friend's borrowed PS3 in DMZ and Friday night me, Kemp and two Portuguese friends did some very good races in the stock(one of them doesn't have setups:) )355.It definitely should have been one of the first unlockable cars-and not the last:grumpy: ,but I sincerely doubt anyone will play SCC after GT5 comes out...unless we schedule something here at GTP:dopey:

Yes, the 355 is something special. I am glad you pointed me in that direction, otherwise I would never have chosen ItI guess. Last night we had 2 guys who were even more unexperienced than me, so the 355 is than a great car, after a while I really start to enjoy It while at first It felt like sunday driving compared to a Corvette. Are you or someone else willing to share some set up tips for the 355 car ?

We should really schedule a SCC meet, I simply cannot believe I quit playing It after GT5.

Yes it is definitely the best car to get to know the tracks(instead of picking the DBR9 or the 599XX and being all over the place and concluding the game s$ckz-like many people have done),right alongside with the 360 GT or the 348 Challenge.
As for setups I'll leave you some links so You can check several people options and figure out which is best for Your driving style or specific track:
