What cars did people use to complete this one? And what sort of price would it set you back?

I know it's fairly early in the game, but I'm taking it slowly lol

I have a Chevy Chevelle, which has a lot of horsepower, but I've pretty much made it un-driveable...so I'm looking for a good and reasonably priced alternative...probably an actual super car, and not a muscle car.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and while I'm here, what's the best and fairest priced Ferrari to get for their competition?

surprisingly... I used the Buick Special 62' that i won from completing the muscle car competition cuz i didnt think the old ferrari that you can get in the dealer was fast enough. i dont remember modding it besides the tires. it handles pretty well in my opinion for an old muscle car. it's got loads of power and can out-accelerate that Lamborghini that likes to pull away from the pack. just watch-out for that oversteer 👍

I think I have that car...but I don't think I've used it because it's a lot slower than my Chevelle and I assumed it would be a lot slower than the supercars.

If you want a car eligible for both the Ferrari & the Nostalgia event, try the 512 BB. Cheap and classy.

You will easily slam your opponents in the Nostalgia cup, but for the Ferrari race you'll need to tune the engine to the maximum

It handles better than basically anything in the game made before 1980 except the Chaparral 2J. It is so good it is basically cheating to enter it in that race, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

How much does it set you back? Is it rare to find in the used car lot? I rarely see any sorts of Ferrari's in mine.

Thanks, I'll check it out and see how it fares.

hahaha oh....I barely look at the dealerships...I'm always looking at the used car lot...almost forgot that some cars can be purchased at a dealership :S

I've never seen a Ferrari in the used car lot so far in the game.

Anyway, you need one for the event. You can even try the 512 in the IC-10 license test.

Will cost you around 150k cr.- to buy + engine mods

The Camaro Z28 69 RM does it quite easily as well. You'll be able to use it for the World Classics, Muscle Car Classics and Muscle Car races as well in both A-Spec and B-Spec easily.
Plus, it's an awesome car in general, so it's totally worth it :D

I've hit another stumbling block...while the Buick was plenty good enough for me to win in A-Spec, but apparantly, it's too heavy and cumbersome for my driver, who ends up just getting caught in the middle-back of the pack, and doesn't have fast enough acceleration to make up enough ground/places on the straights.

I tried him with my Chevelle, which I tuned better to make it more driveable, and it was better, but not by enough.

But, with my Chevelle, he won the muscle car race, and won the Shelby Cobra. Now, I love that car...and when he used that for SN, he got third. I think he could do it better, but I want to give him that little boost which may help him beat the Miura's. The Cobra has good acceleration and speed, and he's not spinning it...but I need a bit more speed to allow him to catch up when needed, before he innevitably brakes early and hard again.

So, my real question is, has anyone tuned up a Shelby Cobra? If so, how can I upgrade it, and not ruin it to drive, for both me, and Bob?

Buy some racing soft and try this suspension tune from TeamLotusGT5, worked pretty fine for me.

Ride Height: -5 / -8
Spring Rate: 4.8 / 4.4
Dampers (Ext): 4 / 4
Dampers (Comp) 4 / 4
Anti Roll Bars: 3 / 3

Wheel Alignment:

Camber Angle: 0.5 / 0.5
Toe Angle: -0.05 / 0.32

You still have to be gental on the accelerator if you max it out.

Shelby Cobra 427 '66 tuning thread

I used the '66 Shelby Cobra, it maxed out at around 210mph, and has 750+ hp.

It always swings when breaking, but it slayed the competition.
