I searched but couldnt find anyone who had discusses this at length. One of the most aggravating things for me was not be able to add any sort of FI to the American cars such as Vipers, Corvettes and Mustangs. So to anyone who has the game, can we finally give the American V8s and V10s superchargers and turbos?

Oh, and one other question that I am particularly curious about. The '05 Ford GT runs a 5.4L supercharged V8 in real life. Please tell me that we can upgrade the supercharger and not just be stuck with giving it an NA upgrade like all other previous(GT3) American cars. Thanks a ton for any answers.

Way off there buddy. Ford's been whoring the 4.6 forever already. Here's the link to their engine options for the '05.

http://www.fordvehicles.com/cars/mustang/

"The 4.6-liter-aluminum V-8 has three-valve heads and cranks out 300 hp and 320 lb.-ft of torque"

Those are the actual #'s according to Ford.
James-

I think he was meaning the GT40 remake, not the Mustang.

EDIT: Yep, he was.

From Ford:

Engine Type: DOHC, 4 valves per cylinder, supercharged V-8
Engine Displacement (L): 5.4

Well, still the '04 Cobra has the supercharged engine as well, and I hope you can do the same (upgrade it with a better supercharger).

Oooh, imagine the supercharger whine. (I know some people hate it but personally I love the sound.)

I love it too.

bumperish.

anybody with the game have an answer? All I wanna do is create a Hennessey Venom 1000 and do a complete lap of the 'Ring with tires a-blazin. :D

Back to topic, can you give forced induction to the big boys(Vipers, Vettes etc) in GT4?

I think the reason no one has answered yet is because the Viper and the Vette in the game are too expensive. It may take some time before someone answers this question.

Probably.

So far, the only car I have seen that can have a supercharger fitted is the Caterham (and you can't even race that in GT mode... or at least there is no way to at the moment). Having now got a decent amoinnt of cash I can maybe check to see if any of the cars can take a supercharger.

Well the C2 Vette I bought has the supercharger option and so did the 64 Pontiac GTO. I'm hoping that my Cerbera can be supercharged.

I dunno if this is relevant to this thread, but I juz find it irritating that I can't put on superchargers on many many cars... y is that? Is it like that in real life, I'm not sure. Cuz I really love the sound of superchargers and yet I can't intall them on my cars, argh!

OK I just checked this out. The '99 Viper GTS can be given a supercharger but no turbo. Supercharger will raise it by 148HP. With this and NA tune you can achieve a little over 1000HP to get your Hennessey.
The '00 Corvette Z06 will only supercharge as well, good for 138 additional HP.
Also checked the Dodge Charger R/T (my current favorite) and it will only supercharge, good for around 180 more HP.

Sorry don't have the Ford GT yet so I couldn't check that but I would assume you could upgrade the supercharger as well.

As soon as you can when you get the game, do yourself a favor and buy the Charger. You won't regret it. :dopey:

Bah, what kinda person would put a turbo on a muscle car anyway. Jebus. Turbo's are for import cars. My opinion. :)

So if you put a supercharger on one of the older musclecars, can you see it poking out of the hood, or did PD whuss out and leave the exterior the same?
I'm hoping it looks like this: (Yeah right:rolleyes: )

I put a supercharger on my '05 Mustang which was good for 450HP. This won me the Chevelle SS 454 which I put a supercharger and plus the other engine mods which fave me almost 720 HP (nothing sticking out the hood of course). I decided on one race to go for more power and put on the stage 3 NA. This upped the HP to almost 770 but of course less torque.

Amazingly I was running the SS 454 on the tyres it came with (no slicks) and it handled well. Admittedly the wing could have helped!! Must get another Chevelle to keep as stock.

Running on "stock" tyres was something I never had much success with in earlier GT games. So far on all my tuned up cars I have yet to do a tyre swap.

You can give most NA cars superchargers. The ST R 10 Viper can go from 507 to 661 ps with a supercharger modification. However, you cannot give a supercharged NA car NA stage tune kits. My experience is that a supercharger will always give you more power than any NA stage modification will give you.

The ford 05 GT cannot be modified with a supercharger or turbocharger. but it can be modified with NA tuning kits up to stage three which will push it from a stock 558 ps to 736 ps. Plus additional modifications such as mufflers, port polish, engine balance, NOS, computer chip...

Are the superchargers in the game roots blowers or centrifugal superchargers?
Can you add/upgrade intercoolers on a supercharged car?
There is only 1 stage to superchargers and not stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, and stage 4?
In GT3 there were a few NA cars that you could add a turbo to, is this still possible?

you can add turbos to some american race cars...
like the corvette '67 z06 ...you can get the beast to a max 1000hp :)

no....you cant add intercoolers to superchargers...and there is only 1 stage
the sad thing is ,NA stage 2 and 3 gets you more power than the single stage supercharger

It probably just depends on the car, but it would be cool if you guys could look into this alittle more.

Now that isn't right. :yuck:

Did PD at least put a nice supercharger whine in? :nervous:
