No, thanks
I'm watching a video of HKS's GT86 and I see that they installed a supercharger on the car. But when I went to GT5 NO TURBOS/SUPERCHARGERS avaiable.

Why ?

Maybe it's because they didn't get the licensing to allow players to install the car with such parts? When you buy a car in real life, you can install whatever parts you want to it as long as it's street legal if you intend to drive it on the road. Other then that, you can install anything on a real car. It may be also why you can't add a aftermarket spoiler on a Ferrari F430, at least on GT5.

Turbo Charging should be allowed as well.. It's an STi motor which is usually turbo charged in the first place..

Other cars that can't gain forced induction that should include the Evora. There is a supercharged version that Lotus themselves offer!! Yet we can't supercharge ours..
Ridiculous.

too early in the GT86s development, I believe. However, the Mustang suffers from the same problem. It happens to a few models, and yet another thing many would like changed.

Why can't you add a supercharger/turbocharger to anything mass produced? Beats me, but it's another area PD can do better in next time. Good thing we've got the Feedback section.

If you want to get technical, you can put a blower or turbocharger on just about any car in the game if its installed correctly. And no twin turbos? Also, no turbos for V8s? I see these all the time on youtube but no dice on here.

It's a game that has limited tuning aspects and we should just appreciate what we have.

you know it could just be that Toyota said so, ultimately they have complete control over their product in the game.

Its not an STi motor, at all. Totally different construction and higher compression, so you can't just slap on a turbo and crank up the boost.

From wikipedia:
The FA shares little in common with the FB engine, with a different; block, head, connecting rods, and pistons. The FA also features direct injection (from Toyota) and variable valve timing. It is used in the Subaru BRZ. A Toyota variant known as the 4U-GSE is used in the Toyota 86 and the Scion FR-S.[6]
Bore: 86 mm
Stroke: 86 mm
Displacement: 1,998 cc
Compression Ratio: 12.5:1
Power: 200 PS (147 kW; 197 hp) at 7,000 RPM
Torque: 20.9 kg·m (205 N·m; 151 lb·ft) at 6,400-6,600 RPM

I imagine they will eventually have a lower compression FI version, but not yet. The big power HKS GT-86 has completely different internals.

I'm not sure if that's the case for this, probably more that it was put into the game too early, but it is the case for the cars you can't use on snow and dirt tracks. You can't use the majority, maybe all, of Mercedes cars on those tracks, yet we can use a Viper on snow/dirt tracks. Most "fancy" cars like Mercedes and exotic cars are unusable on those tracks.

For sure, I wasn't trying to spread it as Gospel. It's just, and I'm sure you know this, soooo many people forget that ultimately if the license holder doesn't want the licensee to do something with their product then it's not gonna happen. Honda, for example, not wanting their products to be in games that feature illegal driving on city streets.

don't forget about the elise '04

I was disappointed that the lotus exige, of all lotuses (or loti?), wasn't in the game. I was further let down by the fact that I couldn't supercharge the elise.

We may never know how PD makes their strange decisions.
