Should the -5% HP penalty be waived for Veterans jump_ace and ZeratulSG

Whichever car/s you are going to drive, take the figures from the first post and reduce the HP figure by 5%.

eg
If you are in say the 300's RX7, it is std @ -1% HP. So you need to set it to -6% HP!

Does that clear it up for you?

Thanks for the help both of you, i'm getting to work now on getting some times up, i like the idea of a 5 lap sprint to qualify, and i do love the ASL a lot! See you on the racetrack, and thanks for letting me participate again!:)
 
Its a sweet car, i love the handling, in fact i think its like a Japanese Lotus Elise in some ways :) You'll surely be beating me for the first 3 rounds because of my HP loss, but after that, it'd be good to see how we compare! 👍
 
Important Series Announcement

It has come to the attention of GTMSA Officials that a grassroots effort to recruit last season's winner ZeratulSG to race in SuperGT. The competitor has expressed a desire to compete with the current crowd, but will not compete with the current penalty for late-registration. GTMSA will put it to the current drivers, and current drivers only the question of whether to lift the penalty on BOTH jump_ace and ZeratulSG.

Both drivers are veterans of both GTP and the old JGTC series, have stellar records both on and off the track, and would make (and are) valuable additions to the fields. Please vote ASAP as Race lineups will be effected.

PS. GTMSA Officials (me) will NOT be voting. This is up to the community as a whole.

I was just about to submit my time and what's this? A nice lil' bonus, possibly get to try for those 1:13's. I do appreciate the consideration for possibly letting us drive pure and clean Chris 👍 Hope it ends up in our favor :)

Hey it's Friday :) After running against several different AI lineups and their screwups I finally got a group that let me draft on every lap and weren't seeing who could fly off the track first. Usually I'm in first place by the 3rd. lap but came in second to the Astra after drafting him the whole lap. Here are my fastest lap splits:

T1: 12.293
T2: 26.897
T3: 54.489
T4: 1'19.8XX

Think I can do better but I don't want to lose this lineup so I'll have to keep running now fora awhile before going around El Capitan 36 times in a Go -Cart :) Sorry Neil I couldn't help myself :)

Looks like that was a miracle hairpin lap there buddy!

What were the rest of em like? Mind you, 5 laps isn't enough time for even your attention span challenged brain to wander off during the race!

The other laps were mid 1'20's. Was that too many words Bud, tried to put it as simply as possible.
Just happened to have the right AI combo,at first I was running the AI's at -10 so I wouldn't have to deal with them, then Del shared some times and advice and I went to +10 and it's worth dealing with them. Do you think the AI drivers come from the UK? Just wondering outloud.....

No other explanation that I can come up with, heheh. I did a race without the penalty just in case... and got a fast lap of:

T1 - :11.776
T2 - :25.008 (I have no clue where I'm losing .4 here :/)
T3 - :50.697

And my laps got a little slower as time went on for some reason too, tough track tho.


EDIT - New splits and only had one mistake that costed me a slower lap, but the rest is feeling okay:

T1 - :11.643
T2 - :24.954 (still behind)
T3 - :50.295 (but caught up a little)

Submitting both race times now :) GL everyone!

Damn .. i should have kept my mouth shut {just kiddin} .. though i did a re-run in GT300 .. and our times will be very very close Drew .... ive poured some sand into Neils petrol tank so theres no need to worry about him .
 
Just done another run with the AI setup @ +10.

Strangely, my lap times were down on the previous best:crazy:
Maybe it's the fact that it's 2am here, I've had 5 cans over the last 6hrs and some painkiller? Or maybe it's the fact that the fracking AI keep screwing up my fast lines through the esses, and tend to get in the way at the hairpin? Or maybe, , , ,I just haven't yet found the lineup without the bleedy Alfa in it? (old JGTC trick, the thing's fast in a straight line but can't corner for toffee! ) And at least we all can now praise PD for getting right, the fact that ALL Calibra's have CRAPPY brakes, and the AI driver has to use you as the final stopping power to get round the corner!

Ahhh! That's better!

Finally, the old JGTC's traditional rant about the crappy AI in the GT300 field has come out! I feel back at home! You?

Right some splits for you from the HP-downed ASL! :sly: I can see i'm not up to others times, but i'm keeping you all company in the slower corners and the esses, but i'm losing my time on the main straight and back straight.

T1 : 12.812

T2 : 26.989

T3 : 55.283

Lap Time : 1'21.5xx

However i have recorded quicker splits for the first two sectors of the track and i know there is a lttle more time to be cut off :) I'm going back to try and trim a tenth off.....

Well it seems that many drivers here wanted me to compete this season (whether that's because you all love me so much or just because you want the chance to legitimately take the championship away from me, I'm not sure ;) ). Thanks for all the support and encouragement from those who gave it.

I realize that the poll Shotgun has created is somewhat unorthodox (I was a little surprised he even considered this), and for the record I leave the final decision to him and to the SuperGT drivers community (I did not vote of course). If the penalty is lifted as a result, I will make the necessary adjustments in RL to allow me to compete in honor of this gesture. I hope those who vote "no" are not put out by this outcome (particularly if I win :trouble: ;) )

I have run the qualy using stock settings and provided my time to Shotgun, in the event that the voting results are in my favor. Good luck to all, here's to a great JGTC (SuperGT) season, and thank you again for the votes of confidence 👍

@RACECAR: mate I don't know how you're managing 24.6 splits in sector 2, you must be holding on for dear life through 3, 4, and 5. The Z is pretty twitchy through that sector. Nice job 👍

Maybe I should have given this another serious go the other night (like I was going to, but didn't), also I should maybe have left my Mojo in the RX instead of putting it in the glove-box of a black Caterham Seven for safe keeping.

Won't make that mistake again!

Wow, comparing my split times with RACECAR's I thought I was gonna be second or third. I had to spend a lot of time trying to keep my car under the 1:14 range, I had a 1:14.0x and a 1:14.1, if I'm thinking of the right replay that is :dunce: I had only one small mishap where I stuffed the sweeping left and lost .3 there, everything else felt okay and with the weight penalty off (thanks to all of you guys, I really appreciate it :cheers:)I felt at more at ease and could feel the monkey getting off my back in a sense. Lookin' forward to the race!

Nice time there mate. Someday you'll have to tell me how you managed that. Before you get your confidence too high though, I should mention that Apricot Hill has never been my best track... :trouble:

Congrats to the podium finishers, and thanks to the community for lifting that ban :cheers: (damn now there's a chance I'll lose my championship title :nervous: ;) )
