Ya I noticed on my car that my front went way faster than my rear so if anything I'll just put RM"s on the front and Keep RS"s on the back, I'll try that tonight and see how it goes :) I think I should change my name it 'Tyre Bee-otch' as I'm gettin' pwned by 'em, lol.

Jerome

Im going to give this another shot with just RS's and the combination of RS's and RM's. Since GTXDriver claims its faster with softer tires.

Obviously without giving away my time, I would like to note time differences between using different compounds, is that okay with you Chris? Just wanna make sure b4 I do so tonight :) Then we can get more into the tire discussions

Jerome

* "Tires restricted to RH,RM,RS or any combination thereof"

You can use any combo you want Jumpace {front /rear}

/\ Great, thx for the assurance dood!

Jerome

OK, ran this thing with two different strategies tonight. And I think I have just about hit my limit with it.

Improved my race time by over 12 seconds and my fastest lap by well over a second.
About 12 seconds behind Laz in race time, on the same strategy, but with a faster lap!

Haven't quite worked what I am doing wrong in the earlier stints, but it may literally be down to AI line up because my lot got in the way at crucial places a couple of times and cost me 2 seconds on 3 laps + maybe another 2 because of increased tyre wear caused by having to change my lines to get round 'em. :grumpy:

Might re-run with a different line-up tomorrow, don't know.
Happy enough overall, cos Laz is faster than I am generally round here, and has gotten very fast overall in the last wee while anyway.

Well damn, I just trimmed 12 seconds off my previous time cause of the tire change and pitting 4 times instead of 6 and my best lap is a second slower than on RS's too :(. I'll give it one more go and see if I can trim a few more seconds, I have one last ace up my sleeve to try 👍

Had my first run in GT300 earlier tonight. It was a 2 stopper with 9 on RM/RM, 15 on RH/RH and the last 9 on RM/RM. I was able to finish the race allright but the fronts were going dark orange by L22 and I started losing lots of time.:nervous: Guess the odd lap number that we have to race for this round should have me do a little rethinking of how I should set the tire combos up for the race in both classes. I just wish we had more time to do this round though. I should have done some tire testing when I had the chance during the Qualifying session.:indiff:

Hey guys, I've been trying to PM Icallshotgun about myself and a friend who just joined here (Dust Shinobi) on what we would need to do to join this series. Neither of us have done this before, so we're a little clueless. I see that we'll both have 10 second penalties for not qualifying, but on top of that we have a 5% hp deduction as well! That kind of stinks. Is there any way around the 5% hp deduction for three races? It just kind of discourages me to think that I won't even have a shot at getting in the points for three races. Also I was hoping to run the Nissan Silvia JGTC car in GT300, but I noticed it wasn't listed. Is there anyway that this car would be allowed? The other cars my friend and I were hoping to use was, GT500: Mobile 1 NSX (me), Loctite NSX (DS)/ GT300: Nissan Silvia (me, hopefully), Honda S2000 LM (DS). What do we set the Hp and weight to for these cars. Any help would be appreciated. And if there are any other officials other than "Icallshotgun" who see this before him please PM me so I won't take this too off topic. Again thanks.

The Nissan isnt really a good choice. It has the horsepower but absolute no torque. At first I thought it would be a good idea to run that car till i compared it to my other times.

This is such a challenge, i am trying to conserve my tyres, while posting good consistent lap times. And it is SO hard!!!!! I think i can still knock a considerable amount of time off of my first run, so i am going to re-run with different strategies! Good luck everyone! 👍

Joe

We can thank Shotgun later for (probably deliberately) picking an odd lap number just to throw out all the easy pit strategies 👍

Me? be a little evil like that? never.

I've got no problem with that, as long as you keep with the discussion within the rules.

@ thebtsspecial I've gotten a PM back to you, so register and you're good to go.

Definitely :sly: Submitting now, I trimmed another 7 seconds or so. I found out my tire strategy finally after 5 attempts so now I can just run it once or twice and see how it feels 👍 See ya next week on my Fav track Fuki 90's!

Times sent. Hard to gap the AI when its a Mclaren or GTR the entire race. Anyone besides me have a near miss with the AI? I almost was hit twice by the Pagani when it spun around in two different places.

Had it happen to me in my GT300 race today. Was nearly clocked by the Alfa DTM car and the FTO Super Touring Car. And I think the Alfa nearly did it to me twice.:scared:

I think I can knock a few more seconds off of my current best GT300 race time. Dunno if a change in tire strategy will do the trick though. At least I have the weekend to try it out. I do have my GT500 tire strategy planned out though.;)

Lookin' Good guys. Also, just got 2 more entries into the GT300 class who will join us for round 2.

Look for thebtspecial and Dust Shinobi on the track and welcome them to SuperGT.

As for Team Toyota, We're doin' OK. I have to learn that in the Supra, slow is fast. I can' t take the corners full throttle like i can in the Celica. Darn 200+ horses! Going to give each another run today and i think that'll be it.

c

Gonna submit the times I got earlier in the week, not got the time for another re-run.

Neil

I keep nearly hitting the spinning cars too. One time the Pagani spun and looked like he was going to shoot across the track but he didn't he stopped facing straight at me and by that time it was too late.

Been having some good runs just stupid little stuff like that keeps happening.

Yeah!

Avoiding errant AI's is a minor sport at Apricot Hill, always has been.
Especially at, and around, turn 2!

The best action to take is do the 'Cole Trickle' trick! Close your eyes, and pray!
If you try to go around them, occasionally they will absolutely try to drive into you. ie, if you try to go round the back, they will go into reverse, and round the front they will drive forward.

Just keep your line, and pray.

Neil

I haven't hit any of the AI yet, but the Viper, the GT40SpecII, and the C5R must be gunning for my little Supra. The Vette tried 2x in the same race to hit me coming outta the pits, while the GT40 and the Viper can't keep their headlights pointed in the right direction. scary stuff when you're 27 laps into a 33 lap race to see the wing of a GT40 headed toward you. Luckily i've carried enough speed to get past'em before they come back onto the track.

I can't do anything better in the Supra. I'm done w/ that one. Time for another go in the Celica.

PS, check out the Qualifying results thread. I've made some changes to the appearance of the results...tell me what you think? more of the nostalgic JGTC style.

Yeah! Very nostalgic, but the green is a little lairy! Hurts my poor old eyes. :(

The viper went around alot of times in my race as well. I actually saw get it t-boned hard by the Zonda when I looked back trying to see where the GTR was. On my second stop, I came out and see the mclaren coming at me as I'm exiting looking like it was gonna knock me flying across the gravel trap. And I couldn't help but notice in your race there was a GT40 Spec II instead of a Ford GT Spec II that I see. Where did you get the codes for that?:sly:

I really like it.

Times sent, managed to keep lap times down while preserving tyres to run a 3 stopper on medium's. Really pleased with my driving and time, even if it is slower than everyone else! :)
