Rules and Regulations

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by SuperGT sanctioning body, GTMSA. Any and all questions should be directed to GTMSA officials (namely me ICallShotgun) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by GTMSA for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
  • No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
  • Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
  • No wall-riding as well. Combine with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
  • All decisions by GTMSA officials are final

Qualifying (5 Laps)
  • Arcade Mode>>>Single Race>>>World Circuits>>>Fuji '90s>>>Select Car
  • AI difficulty set to -10 - +10 for all classes
  • AI Tires must be RS.
  • Tires restricted to RM or any combination thereof.
  • Tire Wear set to NONE
  • Penalty set to FORCED PIT ENTRY
  • TCS is allowed IF DESIRED, but NOT mandatory. ACS is PROHIBITED.

Im going to be all over this one:sly:👍

EDIT: I've been doing this for 3 days now and i've tryed it 4 times. I have to say I dropped 3 seconds off my first time. Still more room for improvement though. Also I have to hit my braking marks. I'm hoping for a podium this time:crazy:.

Chris, where did the current points go? :) Need to see how things are shaping up from round to round...

I know, i'm working on it. I had to change it to new format, and the spreadsheet so far is WAY complicated. Should be up late tonight. Couldn't get to it lastnight b/c i had to sleep. started a new job today! (hooray me).

Hey Chris in the setup instructions you have Tires for us as RM or any combination. Should it be RS,RM or RH or any combination like Apricot quali?

Done a race @ +6 & +7 and found the +7 slightly faster. Now doing it @ +10 and finding the AI a real pain, but know it's going to be ultimately faster because of the drafting down the main straight.

Enough for tonight, off out to play pool!

Neil

Hey Neil, I've been using +10 and taking advantage of the drafting, you just have to not let the FTO get too far ahead cause the other 4 cars are fairly easy to pass but you'll never stay ahead of the FTO, you may pass him a few times but he will re-pass you.

Hey guys, I feel dumb, but I really need to make sure I'm clear on this. In Qualificaiton only, do we NOT run the air restrictor? As you can see I have a -5% hp penalty bc of late registration. The way I read the rules was that in qualifying that penalty was not enforced, therefore I could run the full 315hp. Oh and weight advantages and disadvantages still take place in qualifying, right?

Thanks in advance.

Honestly I think that the ASL doesnt even stand a chance against the toyotas. I tested both cars and there was more than a 7 second difference. If that is like how the rest of the races are going to be like I don't know what i'll do.

Just go by the figures in the first post! Then you cannot go wrong!

Im confussed on which tires we can use. Can we use RH,RM,and RS. Or can we only use RM's?

And Christ BOY! Is it possible that you can read as well as you spell?

It is absolutely clear! The AI must use RS tyres, we must use RM's! (Or any combination of RM fronts with RM rears we can think of! I don't know? Maybe RM/RM? or RM/RM maybe?)

Possibly a little more attention to your English Language or Literature studies in school, or maybe, English Comprehension studies would help stop you making such 'Elementary' mistakes?
Or, maybe, a little less of the 'Smart-arse' attitude would make it easier for us to help you out without pointing out your obvious failings?

Me?
I just don't give a Damn! (Where's my trailer, Mr Demille?)

Neil

I'm with Neil Here. I've spelled it out pretty clear here guys. Pay attention to the race threads and and use the settings I've put out for you in both AI and yourself.

I don't write these out for fun...well i do, but that's besides the point...but to help you along with setting up your own car. Come on dont' be dumb, or don't be in my series.

That being said, I think I'm done with qualifying.
GT300 and the Celica proved to be a nice little diversion, but not suited for sucha LONG track. I'm very happy with my time, and i honestly don't think I can get more out of it.

As for the GT500 Supra, there's still maybe 1-2 seconds out there, but that darn Turn 4 (100R) foils me almost every time. I just can't seem to get through there fast and consistent. one lap I can get an exit speed of 120+, the next i have to let off or <gasp!> tap the brakes and end up at 113-115 only. that's 1/4 second right there. Then getting out of the Chicane just before T3 onto that long front-stretch is the key to a good race. Anyway, I've seen a best-lap in the high 1:20's, so i'm pretty happy with that.

I'm not quite sure why this part was necessary. A simple yes/no would have sufficed. Also, after reading his post and my own, I've yet to see where either of us has been "smart-arse". Yes he spelt confused wrong, but you knew what he meant. The part about the tires, I can see where it could lead to some confusion. I myself, thought that maybe it was a typo since the phrase, "or any combination" was used. The reason for my question is that even though the signup thread mentions a removal of the air restrictor this thread does not.

Come on, this is supposed to be for fun. 👍

The 'Smart-arse' bit, & afterwards, is not intended for you mate!
There is 'history', involving not reading or respecting rules and conventions.

That's all I will say.

Honestly I think that the ASL doesnt even stand a chance against the toyotas. I tested both cars and there was more than a 7 second difference. If that is like how the rest of the races are going to be like I don't know what i'll do.

You need to learn to drive the ASL. the shift points are ALL wrong from what you feel. They're way below the red-line. Also, the shift-points do make a difference. if you shift at the lower spots, you get more torque and more acceleration than if you waited to red-line.

Also the Garaiya is tail-happy. use this to your advantage. let off the gas at the right point and it practically whips around the corner. at the wrong time and you're facing traffic.

My testing shows has both cars w/in .1s of each other, and that's only because of driver-error (my own). It really depends on driver-style. That's all. Maybe the Toyota would have been more suited to your driving style...that's really why I picked it. I'm surprised that the Subaru wasn't picked more, it's been a DOMINATING car in old JGTC and LMS competition. But oh well.

That's fine. If history is involved then I understand. You said read the rules, and I did. Do I go off of the signup thread that ICS made which states that in qual. air restrictor is not in place. I'm asking because I did come in a little late. I'm just making sure I don't DQ myself because a rule was changed somewhere in the thread. This one's qual. rules and the signup's rules are not the same.

I did this in both the Celica and the Supra. I'm past them both 1/2 way down the stretch after T1. You get a Great draft down the front at the start though, and at least for me it gives me incentive to hall arse so as not to be caught. works pretty well...i hope.

It's bleeding hard in the RX, especially in the last two laps, to keep up with the FTO.

Easy to corner better and such, but he either just walks away or slipstreams straight past on the straight.
And I REALLY hate coming in second in a race, even to the AI @ +10.
Some of them have such a HP advantage, and at the same time, such a severe lacking in cornering ability......that it is dis-heartening.

To be 1.5-2.5 seconds ahead at T3, only to be out-dragged to the line by an Idiot in a more powerful car is not pleasant.:grumpy:

Neil

Easy question: Even though I have the penalty of -5% HP, in Qualifying (only), do I run with or without this penalty.

I'm surprised that the Subaru wasn't picked more, it's been a DOMINATING car in old JGTC and LMS competition. But oh well.
And I'm the only Subaru driver in the GT300 class so far this season.:guilty:

I cant race anymore till my sprained thumb heals. Well I cant drive the DFP because I have this little cast on. The DS2 I cant use because I cant use my thumb at all.

I heard a rumor that GT4 sprained his thumb while rotating his RM's at the Fuji circuit .

Finished.
If I'll be the fastest you need to give me 2 points for the fastest lap,Chris.
Somehow it happened that I have the same fastest lap twice.Strange...:dunce:
Time submitted.
