Sure, all across the US American Police Departments get funds to buy and modify vehicles to promote the anti-drug message. We have had a few different ones here, including Camaros, Mustangs, Corvettes, and F-250s. Its pretty much there for show, and in no way is it an enforcement vehicle.

How the Italians do it:

How the Germans do it:

Greatest Police Car Ever: Chevrolet Caprice 9C1

German Police Cars just kick ass. I saw a video of what appeared to be an MKIII Jetta GLX VR6 racing around, and that definatley pulled on my VW-pride strings...

I gotta give it to the Americans. Not a fan of Crown Vics, but oldschool one's like from the 70's to 80's were so bada$$. My favorite American Police cruiser might be the 80's Caprice. 👍

P.S. They do have some cool police cars in Japan. Z's, Skyline GTR's, you name it. But the coolest one are the unmarked, undercover models. They have(at least used to) the very trick flip up lights. I've seen it popup just once. Just 1 day before I moved from Japan to here. Very cool.

Edit:
80's Caprice like this one.

Around me we have, Dodge Magnums, Dodge Chargers, a Caddy CTS, a C5 Z06, a C6 Corvette, and my favorite police spec Blazers :D. Also a few LS1 Camaros and a built up Mustang.

W00ps!

Think I've better put this in the Videos & Photos thread, oh well...

I've once seen a Dodge Viper police car, well not in real that is :D

That car is not really a police car; the D.A.R.E. logo means it's the Drug Abuse Resistence Education program. They've slapped that logo on several cars that are siezed and auctioned from drug trafficers.

In this case, this particular Supra is doing the rounds at Broward County schools, parks, etc. I've never seen that particular car, although they've had Camaros and Mustangs in the past (which resembled cop cars, but aren't...although they've made do double-takes on my speedometer before).

what the hell? I live in broward county (south florida) and have never seen this color scheme on squad cars.

Pupik's half right on this one. Broward County has this farely new program where if you get a ticket street racing, you have either the choice to pay the fine or hit the tracks against other drag racing police officers who race everything from camaros to (i'm guessing from the pic) supras. its a way to keep repeat offenders off the streets and play it safe on the tracks.

Thats a awesome system they have there, wish they did that here.

Skyline policecar, but it's no GT-R. In Japan, Skylines and Integras with JDM front go as familiy transport, especially the Skyline ER34..

D.A.R.E. cop cars are almost always drug seizures. We have quite a few of these here locally.

It's most likely a GT-T or something. Which means about 250hp.

I've seen R32 GT-R Police cars but I couldn't find a picture on google.

Dude... Now I DON'T want to live in Japan.. Cause if they see me speeding.. I will have GT-R or STi, or NSX or somthing super fast... I WON'T HAVE A CHANCE!!!

They do have the best Police Cars.. I MEAN JUST LOOK IT THEM!

And we don't get the Chevy police cars.. We get the Ford ones!

We also have Nissan Hybrids cars the roam around all the time. And we were one of the first to have them, we havd them for I think about 3-4 years.

oh? our coppers had bere 400bhp Jaguar.. >.> which they, naturally, drove into a ditch after losing control. :D

*McLaren*
But I'm 100% sure the 1st GT-R photo was a possession and not an actual police vehicle.
Yeah, it's painted to look like a police car, but looks like they were just promoting a new video game, according to the back banner.

...I'd like to see a face-off of Police cars around the world, including track times done not only by the respective Police Officers, but by the Stig as well...

My bets are on either the Germans or the Brits to win, as they have the BMW persuit vehicles. But I wouldnt count out the American 9C1s and B4Cs, as they are good for 160 MPH.

Ive actually seen a Gallardo cop car in New York. But it was on a flatbed, probably there for show :odd:
It said 'polizia' on it, so...
I bet Italians or Brits would win.
