Surfing GTP using an iPhone!

Today I was at The Mall at Millenia in Orlando and there is an Apple store there and I got to use an iPhone, the first thing I did was go in "Safari" and browse around GTPlanet! The iPhone is so cool, its just like a computer.. A tiny computer. It's so amazing. I knew it was awesome, but when I used it, I discovered it is amazing. So, yeah, I looked at the "Auto News" section and it was so awesome. I also checked out the videos of GT5 here in this site.

There's a whole thread in the Electronics forum devoted to the iPhone. Yes, it's very cool. I'll probably pick one up when my current Verizon contract expires in a few months.

What's up with the teeny text, anyway? Just use default.. makes it easier for us to read it.
 
The jedi is right mister Trueno, the text is a bit hard to read. It's up to you of course, but I can imagine everyone would greatly appreciate it if you were to use a slightly larger font size. 👍

Hold down ctrl and then rotate the mouse wheel. His font is bigger than anybody else.
 
With hyper phones like the Nseries from Nokia, I don't see iPod and the phone merging just yet. That's why I went with the iPod Touch instead, my Nokia N93i whups the iPhone.
 
While I love the iPhone, I'd never consider buying one simply because its on the AT&T network here in the United States. Spotty service, crappy plans, among other things, its just such a HUGE deal breaker.

I'm waiting for a good iPhone rival at Sprint, and I'll be happy. I've considered a switch to the Blackberry 8830, but thus far, I haven't made the commitment...

That is extra effort, besides, on FF it just goes forward or backward through pages you have viewed.

Not quite what you have. So, Trueno, again, consider changing the alignment and size of your posts.

On the iPhone - its over rated more or less and Vip has the right idea regarding the iTouch in a way.

I haven't had a single problem with their service whatsoever, and as a matter of fact, they've got some of the best customer service not just over the phone, but in their stores as well. I had NEXTEL and Verizon before it, and I hated both, and I'm very happy that I traded to Sprint. The GSM companies really would have been the only other option, and its pretty much non-existent here in Michigan in terms of usable coverage.
 
It's not only the reception but Sprint is ALWAYS calling me or emailing me with some stupid offer and it's getting ****ing annoying. It's funny when they call because sometimes the call drops anyway. :lol:

That's exactly what it's like in the UK. We get the iPhone on O2, the Vauxhall of networks at the cost of a BMW. Their coverage is mostly good (although their 3G is pitiful) but the cost of the tariffs and calls is the problem.

I actually did a bit of research, and assuming you went for the cheapest price plan you'd end up paying £900 in total before you could escape the 18 month contract. The contract its self worked out at £630 over that 18 months, and then O2 have the cheek to make you pay another £270 for the phone its self.

For the same cash, you could get a more generous contract on 3, a free phone, and three 8GB iPod touches with cash to spare. Or just buy 1 and save yourself £400. And when I say more generous, I mean more generous. More free internet access, 1800 more minutes and 1800 more texts over the 18 month contract, cheaper charges outside of the free minutes and the warm feeling you get inside from being on a network that's not evil.

I work for Sprint but I went and got an iPhone the day it came out. I had it for about 2 months, liked it alright but ended up selling it before the price drop to a friend of mine. Moved into a Blackberry 8830 and never looked back, I like it so much more than the Apple.

The web browser itself is nicer, obviously, however the internet speed is not. Unless you are in a wifi spot it's horribly slow, and the youtube thing is a good idea but it suffers the same problem as the regular web. Unless you're in wifi the videos take forever and when they finally do come up they look terrible as they reduce the resolution when on edge. I like the screen, I like the interface, I hate the poor speakers. There are a lot of nagging things that would need to be addressed before I considered one again. Plus the bill for them in my mind wasn't justified for what you got, I got a basic minute plan with data and the basic text and still ended up paying $80 a month. I'd personally rather get an iPod touch, skip the stupidly high monthly bill and mediocre phone service and keep all of the features that were good about the phone.

I don't have a complaint yet with my Blackberry and I've had it for a few months now, does everything I want and more. Love the emails, screen is nice, speakers are loud, keyboard is great, navigation works very well, etc. etc. etc. The one thing I did keep from my iPhone experience is the icons as I was so used to them. I actually picked up a Blackberry Pearl today as well and I threw it on there too:

I came from a smart phone and the iphone has less than half the features it did, but its just so damn cool and more than makes up for its shortcomings. Needless to say, iTunes is a piece of ****.

I was shocked when Vodaphone didn't get the Apple Contract, but that would have opened a channel to get the iPhone in the US through Verizon, wich probably wouldn't have gone over well with AT&T. We're still what, three years from seeing the iPhone available at most stores? Yeah, that really sucks...

I haven't had any hands-on time with the 8830, but it all sounds very good to me. I'd have to wait until March to get some of the kick-backs on my RAZR from Sprint, God knows how much that will hurt with the overall price of the phone.

The 8830 has WiFi support, right? I was thinking that it would be a good way to finally put the system to good use at school (since I've yet to invest in a laptop... May go the used route and get an older MacBook...).

The 8830 does not have wifi, I believe at the moment the only BB with it is T-Mobile's Curve (AT&T's curve does not have wifi), but I'm sure the other carriers will pick up wifi BB devices at some point. You'll just be running on EVDO for the internet on Sprint. The Mogul is currently the only sprint PDA with wifi on it.
 
I got an ipod touch instead and they r pretty cool aswell because you ca =n make the writing bigger with the touch of your fingers lol.
