I was bored after i got back from my bob doing an endurance race, so I decided to buy a really cheap car, repair its engine and body n take it for a drive on Special Stage Route 7.

I bought a Mitsubishi FTO GPX '97 .... piece of poo yes? but i was surprised that this heap of rubbish, powered with 197bhp, and at 1170kg, managed to reach 154mph! I wasn't even expecting it to hit 140 to be honest!

Just thought id share with everyone. :)

Question...
Have you ever bought a car out of boredom or because it was cheap, n then think, why didnt i buy this earlier?!
If so, what car?

I love the FTOs I bought all three as soon as I could. Awesome FF car. Still looking for the RM version.
 
I just bought a Volvo 240 GLT Estate. Dirt cheap, for under 12,000 cr. from the UCD. Bring on the fresh paint, sleeper status, and epic drifts! :sly:

The FTO Super Touring Car is an absolute Weapon when the supension is tuned up right. Last night I was beating up on modded Super GT and DTM cars with my dead stock one even with 20kg of ballast added.



I have a Honda Odyssey minivan painted Matte Pink with every mod and a rear spoiler (406 hp). I tuned up the suspension, and I managed to run a 7:34 on the Nordschliefe with it, not even pushed as hard as I could. It really pisses people off when I win online races against their tuned cars with it.

How'd you get yours to hit 125?
Mine will barely hit 70, but boy does it get there quick. :)
 
The Volvo Estate I own, and i Drift it online!
Loads of fun! Chain drifting on the top gear test track in 4th gear while people try n copy you! hilarious!
My Volvo looks stock i left the horrible paint on it, it is lowered n the camber is turned up, but it does look pretty stock!
 
Yellow FTO was my car of choice in TOCA World Touring Cars (remember that). For some reason i've always forgotten about them in GT games. 154mph? I may have to get one now!
 
154 shocked me, its faster than a tesla, lightened n tuned suspension, then again, the tesla is a HUGE waste of money!
But the FTO was 16,000cr :)
Really good car for its class!

YES YES so much win, mines pink and im trying to win the gt world championship with it, cant win nordschleiffe with 303 hp tho.......my best is only 5th. Won the polophony cuup tho and many others where its out-classed.:sly:
 
I remember the FTO from GT1 and how it was so stable going into that first corner at Grand Valley. Loved that car so much it was the the second car I bought. In fact I still have it as my in game picture.
 
Love the FTO and especially the Super Touring FTO. If it wasn't so well-known, it would be a great 'sleeper' race car. That thing has grip like nothing else save the X1.

I generally buy anything interesting in the UCD, then if I get bored I'll go into my garage, find something to tune a little bit and jump online with it. The variety of cars is 90% or more of the fun and depth of GT5. I drive from the bumper so all the cars look exactly the same to me :).
