Being that this seems to be an unfilled niche on GTPlanet, I decided to make a thread dedicated to posting "survivor" cars.
What is a survivor? Basically, any car that's at least 20-25 years old (but not exactly "classic" either, being newer than 45 years or so) that should've died out by now, yet is still running. These types of cars are usually very obscure or under-appreciated and still running for no apparent reason, and wouldn't really qualify to be posted in the "rare finds" thread. That being said, popular retro cars that are still running aren't "survivors" (foxbody Mustang GTs, 'Vettes, Miatas, etc), heavily modified cars do not count, and cars that are in poor condition aren't really survivors either (should be in at least decent condition to count).
Here are a few survivors I've found on craigslist:
1986 Oldsmobile Firenza 2-door coupe- $1750 and 53,000 miles.
1975 Oldsmobile Starfire (Chevrolet Monza rebadge)- $6,800 and 59,000 miles.
1989 Jeep Cherokee Wagoneer Limited- $7,700 and 150k miles.
1983 Imperial- $7,500 and 65k miles.
1985 Toyota Camry 5-door hatchback- $3,500 and 145k miles.
1992 Volkswagen Passat wagon- $5,000 and 140k miles.
There are much better and rarer survivors out there; these are just a handful of what's near me. I'm interested to see what the GTP community will post, so let's get the ball rolling!
