As you all know, the new update is out on Tuesday. I've got 5 hours left of Le Mans, and I want to know, when you update, is your race still suspended?

I would'nt risk it, you've got 5 days to do 5 hrs and if you really cant do it because of RL then I guess you're going to find out.

Otherwise say if you're not going to be able to play till the weekend, start up your ps3 and dont sign in then you could finish the race and then update GT5 after you've finished the race.

Good advice, start the game without being online (sign out of PSN or disconnect from the internet). If you're not online, it won't find updates to install and you can safely resume you're game.

I have to agree with sneakypete, 5 days to do 5 hours is a lot, why not just finish it?

Disabling the network connection is the safest bet, yes... although won't that disable your login bonus as well? I've read reports on here that when this happened before everything worked fine, but the update took effect immediately meaning that once you resume after the update all of the new features will affect the rest of your race. So be prepared to adjust your strategy.

I'll back up my save, and I'll do the update because of the new tyre wear adjustments.

morgoth is correct. i had this happen during the last tire wear update, the save will be fine, however the update will come into effect immediately, so be prepared to adjust your strategy especially in a close race
