Suspension settings on the Nurburg...

I've noticed that some cars in GT4 (mainly the lighter ones) are prone to becoming very unsettled on the Nurburg, especially after putting a stiffer suspension on them. Cars like the stock SL600, SL500, and 300C are just fine... but if I try to drive my Lotus 7 (which has had all 3 stages of weight reduction and a racing suspension applied to it) on it, the car bounces all over the place. Even my Skyline (also with a full course of weight reduction and a racing suspension) bounces. Obviously the suspensions are just too stiff for the Nurburg (despite the fact that the spring rates on the Lotus are something like 6kg/mm) even though they work just fine on all the other tracks on the game. It's somewhat disappointing because I'd like to drive something as agile as the 7 is with a fairly stiff suspension and super soft compound tires on the Nurburg. :(

I've tried reducing the spring rates and shock bound settings to minimal effect (except to make the handling much worse :yuck: ).

Anyone else had the same experience? Or a different one for that matter?

Certain settings do have a tendency to unsettle a car at Nur. If you've already added all the downforce you can and do not want to reduce the springrates and shock settings, then what you will have to do is make sure that the car is stable during jumps. You can accept the fact that the car will jump, just make sure that the settings are such that the car won't spin out every time you get air.

:-/ I'll have to play around with the settings some more... In the videos I've seen of cars on the Nurburg (including that one of a BMW M3 race car that someone posted in the GT4 forum) the track doesn't look as bad as it is in GT4... Maybe GT4 is more accurate than the videos, maybe it's less... personally I'd be willing to give up the bumps in GT4 (whether they're more realistic or not) to drive the 7 or the Elise flat out around the track without having to give up a lot of the cars' handling prowess. :(

Interesting... I had the springs on the 7 at 8kg/mm for the front and back... and it was nearly impossible to control on the Nurburg. I reset it to the defaults for the racing suspension and it was just fine, albeit still very bouncy...
