So I've done the Suzuka endurance race in the X2010 and thought to myself, "wow this is a long race." At the time I had no idea just how long this race can be.
Today I decided to run the same race through B-spec. Got two of my drivers; D.Oh and R.Kelly, got the car; Honda Raybrig NSX. Race starts and its raining. I'm thinking "alright this going to be an exciting race!" Five and a half hours later I am now thinking the opposite. 114 laps out of 172 have been completed and it looks like I have at least four more hours to go. I should have used the X2010:crazy:

This race took roughly 5 and half hours with the X2010 in the rain. I thought it'd be shorter since it's before the Nürburgring 4 hour...but I guess not.

It took me 6 hours to complete(90% raining) with the Nismo Xanavi GT. After the initial laps of the begining(dry track), i calculated, that it would take me somewhere int he vicinity of 3 hours, but then the heavens opened, and was stuck at home all day playing it. It was fun at times, but really boring, because im indoors driving a virtual car, when i could be out go-karting.

I could do a Suzuka 50000km and I would still suck at this track. I don't know what it is, I'm just awful here. And rain doesn't help.

I love your B-spec driver name:lol: [/OFFTOPIC]

Hmm, this should make me reconsider doing it alone. I'd better get a friend to take part;)

I've read that this race last in or around 6 hours too...I'll just wait for a patch with race saves:scared: or I just won't do it

Gosh, that was exhausting.

I took my stealth GT-R, added 50 kilos weight, limitted the power to 80% and used RH throughout. No rain fortunately.

Just some very basic tuning, if pushed the GT-R otherwise eats through the front tires too quickly.

Figured laps in the 2:06-2:08 range would make for a good close race.

Took me 6.18 hours to complete, pitted every 18 laps for fresh rubber and fuel (36-37 laps on one tank), second place NSX was 1:35 minutes down.

Fastes lap was a 2:03.8.

I was very much looking forward to this race but as I was never under any real pressure it would have been very boring if it wasn't for Suzuka and the beautiful SuperGT car.

Shame really, I won't be doing this race any time soon and if I do it I try a GT300 car with a turbo upgrade. But it brought me very close to unlocking the 4hrs Nürburgring race :-)

Good job man! Thats gotta be a grind!

Yeah, first time through I had only done the first 60 lap endurance race. Without race saves I'd be stuck. Unable to complete the Endurance level. Most I'd sit doing a race is 2-2.5 hrs at a time. I'm not leaving the PS3 on for 10 days or more. Unless Sony wants to give me a new one! FREE!

You know Kaz did the 24hr Nurb race last year for real. He should know there are several drivers in a team for that. We should be able to hand off to B-Spec AI drivers during a pit if we want to.

Well I'm on sick leave and there's really not much I can do right now other than sit in a chair and watch the telly.

It wasn't that bad but I'd hoped for more pressure in the race. After my second pit stop (AI's first) they never came closer than 20 seconds. Though the following three nsx kept up so my margin grew steadily rather than losing one rabbit car and all of a sudden finding myself with a big lead.

Glad I did it with the G25, my hands would hurt very much with the DS3.

If you consider RL GT300 cars doing even better than my fastest 2:03 it's hard to give myself even a bigger handycap.

I think fitting a 4 hour race in weekends is manageable: 2 hours in the morning and 2 in the evening.

In race saves would be nice though.

Which is my biggest gripe with the game, the AI. What's the point of having "realistic" cars if I have to limit their ability just to TRY and make a race fair. I'm always tuning down the HP. However, you can't blame them for false advertisement. They've never claimed to be a "Racing Simulator"; it's a "Drivinig Simulator". :grumpy:

It's a 1,000 kilometer race. How could it possibly be "too long?" Any way you look at it, 1,000k is going to take you 1,000k to complete. If the AI cars could come even somewhere close to the times those cars are capable of, it would be more fun, but welcome to Gran Turismo.

Why do you say it's too long when it tells you that you're covering the distance of 1000km, did you think driving that long of a distance only takes an hour or something? I guess you should just use he x2010 then.

I've never used the red bull x2010 for any enduro race, ever. I always pick a car that is below the ai's HP. I prefer competition for 172 laps over driving a boring race in an x2010 with nothing new everylap whatsoever.

I happened to do this b-spec race today. Not sure exactly but took less than 5 hrs. Used that Minolta racecar.
