Are there any races for this track?
I was testing a Concept Ford GT. And this track is almost as good as Apricot Hill for testing a car. It showed me that the Ford GT has an evil, back-stabbing personality and is just waiting to bite you with nasty "snap-oversteer".

But back to my original question. I haven't seen any races with this track.
Has anyone else?

*edit* I only searched after I posted. I only found one other thread.
Mods, sorry for not just bringing that one back to life.:guilty:

I haven't checked all the manufacturer's events. And if my memory serves there was in GT2 a track in the manufacturer's event that was not available in the regular races.

In GT2 the manufacturer's events locations were randomly selected. I believe this was the only way to access the 'Rome: night' course aside from arcade mode. (and motorsportsland wasn't used in sim mode at all).

I'm pretty sure Suzuka West isn't in any races in sim mode at all. I remember checking all the main series, but I'm not sure if I checked the manufacturer races.
They probably just included it because they already had all of Suzuka, and they do really use it. So it's negligible coding, and +1 track for the almighty statistics.

edit: I just remembered, it doesn't have a pit. That thing that looks like a pit you see on the back stretch of the full course is still blocked off in the west course. Maybe because they're lazy and weren't going to use the track anyway, or maybe it's not big enough to hold all 6 cars. (Although I don't think it's much smaller then the Nurburgring's.)

Bah! The Suzuka West and Suzuka East tracks are for little boys. Real men tackle the Grand Prix circuit.

In reality, I wish they would have included the west circuit in sim mode. The east circuit is so boring and uninteresting, yet they used it many times. The west circuit has more character.

I enjoy suzuka a lot. I like the west course more then the east course but of course I normaly drive the whole thing.

Both are good for when you want to tune different aspects of a car, ie Suzuka West for high speed stuff and the East track for low speed handling in the S curves. Saves time over doing the whole lap :)

I love the West Course, so much fun. Too bad they havn't used it in Sim mode... Those bastards.

I dont think it's anywhere in some race series but it's a stupid track IMO though, for testing, take Suzuka complete, much better.:):dopey:

Im pretty sure that there was west in one of the manufacture races,...or mabey that was east? Was west the one with a straight then a length that had curves in it?I cant seem to remember:confused:.

Ahhh... Someone who doesn't know Gil.

The realest man of men. Pssst... Gil, I won't mention your career ;).

On topic, I find it suprisingly interesting that PD coded in a track that isn't used in the game. The plausible answer being that the larger track was programmed in, they just added a few barrels and it was done.

You just made me go check Gil's profile.

West Course is much more interesting than the East Course, in my opinion. The east one is good for learning how your car handles, but it really isn't any fun (could be fun drifting it all, I should try that...).

If you want to find out about a car's vilest handling traits, Suzuka west is perfect due to all the places for side-to-side weight transfer, happening in conjunction with front to back transfer. It's also a quick process on the shorter West circuit.

The Ford GT I mentioned in the first post doesn't like this track at all! In the third turn, if you don't slow to a near crawl it will try to swap ends, (a'la early 911), with the rear trying to spin to the outside. And when you ease up on the accelerator and crank the wheel to get control, the car will spin violently in the opposite direction.:grumpy: And this was on R4 tires! I imagine this behavior would be majorly magnified on S3's.
Very disconcerting each and every time it happens.
I imagine that if you can dial that tendency out, the car will be rock stable every where else. I guess I'll have to try out my Elan there and see if it does the same thing.:scared:

Der Alta Thanks for the support. Now, I bet my profile will get a lot of visits.
And for those that are wondering... it takes a "real man" to stick other people with huge needles.👍
It also takes a "real man" to change an old lady's diaper.:yuck: This is not a task for the faint of heart.

Not a drifter, eh? That snap out spin seems to be a pretty common problem for new drifters. (I know it happens to me every time I take the Falken RX out.) They say it happens because you're countersteering too much, for one. I'll see if I can find some threads addressing the issue.

edit: here's one.

Yes, and one of the very few that has a legitimate reason to drive a vehicle that large. :)

Perhaps this might be a suitable track to decide if a rigidty refresher really does help.

It's fun to chuck it into a LAN party.

Everyone is a little confused when they start off by approaching 130R, but they settle into it quickly. Then BAM!

Haha, I was playing Racing battle C1 and it had Suzuka Circuit wast in it. I was all like 'Is this track in GT4 as well? I'm sure it is, but i've never set a tyre on it'

I boot up gt4 and find a track that i've never raced on after having the game for more than a year now.
