I'm with you blarg, I'd rather get the divorce too! And besides, a rare car like this has a very good chance at increasing in value due to it's collector's status, and could likely go for a lot of money at an auction in the future (Just look at the muscle car market right now).

You guys don't know what rare 80s/90s cars even are. Did you know they made an all-wheel drive Toyota Camry from 1989 to 1991? What about the Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited, with the largest engine ever in a midsize SUV, in 1998 only? Or the Lexus ES250, the first-generation ES model, sold for only two years? Did you know that Lexus made several products in the late 90s and 2000 that came with a set of Coach Luggage and that Volkswagen produced a version of the Golf and Jetta that came with a mountain bike (the Trek edition) and a set of skis or snowboards (the K2 edition)?

The 323 GTX is just one of many... and it wasn't even that fast!

What I'veheard from a New Zealander (The 323GTXs are more common in NZ) at another board is to stay away from these things. Apparently they eat transmissions quickly, and in general are just really expensive to run. "Needs center diff"... not really surprising

It's a shame they aren't more reliable, a high powered AWD hatch sounds like fun. I've seen one out on the road in good shape (and with a roll cage ), definitley cool.

There's a couple cars I want to own just so I can take good care of them, so they won't waste away in peoples' garages, or get in crashes, or that sort of thing. The 87-91 Camry All-Trac is one; the 96-97 Eagle Vision TSi is another. Cars like that - super-rare cars where even owners don't know they have something cool - are likely going to get trashed, and I feel like at least one good example should survive. Meanwhile, other rare cars - the 83-88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, or 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited are known by a lot of people to be rare and might end up being collected one day, so they don't have as much value to me.

Well, some of these cars are worth it!

When I quote using copy + paste (where it's the second quote in a post), I don't bother quoting smileys or text color. Also if I take parts out of a reply and it erases some code, I don't bother to re-insert it. It's why special colors drive me nuts!

Ah...dont worry about the quoting right anyways since I was just messing with ya. But lets say you get the Camry and the TSI would you drive it normally or just garage it? I would assume you would just garage it since you would wanna take care of it.

They're slow, old Toyota sedans with ten zillion miles on them in most cases. I've seen them as cheap as $750, in running condition.

I should ask the folks at our Toyota Dealership ( I think has the largest showroom in the US or in Flordia.) We know them very well so I am sure they will give us an honest answer?

Indeed they did - I believe four cars got the All-Trac treatment: Previa, Celica, Corolla, and Camry. The rarest of the four is actually the Corolla sedan, which they made for only two years (1988 and 1989) but they made more than enough Corolla All-Trac wagons to compensate for that; they made the Corolla All-Trac wagon in large (comparatively) numbers from 1988 to 1992.

Camry's second-rarest, the Celica, though neither are common. The Celica All-Trac was a great car - sold from 1990 to 1993, AWD, turbo, hatch, 200 horsepower. In fact, it was the exact same on paper as the first-generation Talon/Eclipse/Laser models with AWD and a turbo (though they were sold from 1990 to 1994 rather than 1990 to 1993). Only problem is, Celicas are rarer and considerably more expensive used. Of course, there was also the Isuzu Impulse RS Turbo which may have been the best of the three vehicles...

The Previa All-Trac is the very best: if you ever want to truly stump someone, ask them what's the only supercharged AWD Japanese car ever sold. They'll never guess it was a 163-horsepower minivan that did 0-60 in a shade under fifteen. (Nissan had two supercharged 4WD cars, though - Frontier and Xterra)
