Actually I do, one of my friends has one.M5PowerDid you know they made an all-wheel drive Toyota Camry from 1989 to 1991?
M5PowerWhat about the Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited, with the largest engine ever in a midsize SUV, in 1998 only?
Slick6Actually I do, one of my friends has one.
retsmahThe GTX is cool not just because it's rare, but because it's a really cool little turbocharged awd hatchback.
M5PowerWhat does he want for it?
pimp racerDamn Doug are you looking to buy it? Man you are a "balla"![]()
Yeah but knowing you how long would you keep the car?M5PowerThere's a couple cars I want to own just so I can take good care of them, so they won't waste away in peoples' garages, or get in crashes, or that sort of thing. The 87-91 Camry All-Trac is one; the 96-97 Eagle Vision TSi is another. Cars like that - super-rare cars where even owners don't know they have something cool - are likely going to get trashed, and I feel like at least one good example should survive. Meanwhile, other rare cars - the 83-88 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, or 98 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited are known by a lot of people to be rare and might end up being collected one day, so they don't have as much value to me.
Slick6Actually, he seems quite intent on keeping it. He tooks good care of it, if that makes you feel any better. 👍
pimp_racerYeah but knowing you how long would you keep the car?
Forever? Wow sounds like you are really serious about this then! BTW You didnt quote me right! You forgot my special dimgray text!M5PowerIt does indeed. It's okay though - I'm not really in the market just yet - right now I only have room for three garaged cars, though I've informed my wife that if a Camry All-Trac or 96-97 Vision TSi goes on sale locally I will be purchasing it (same goes for a Dodge Spirit RT).
Given the car, forever.
pimp racerForever? Wow sounds like you are really serious about this then! BTW You didnt quote me right! You forgot my special dimgray text!![]()
Ah...dont worry about the quoting right anyways since I was just messing with ya. But lets say you get the Camry and the TSI would you drive it normally or just garage it? I would assume you would just garage it since you would wanna take care of it.M5PowerWell, some of these cars are worth it!
When I quote using copy + paste (where it's the second quote in a post), I don't bother quoting smileys or text color. Also if I take parts out of a reply and it erases some code, I don't bother to re-insert it. It's why special colors drive me nuts!
Yeah well now atleast we know you will be driving them which is good!M5PowerI'd put money into bringing them back to original condition. Cars are meant to be driven, but I wouldn't drive them hard or on long trips.
The reason I want a 1996-1997 Eagle Vision TSi is because it debuted the manu-matic transmission on the consumer market; the Spirit RT speaks for itself, and the Camry All-Trac is an AWD Camry - cool indeed. Less than 3000 of each were produced during their entire production runs (1200 Spirits, 1100 Visions, maybe 2500 Camrys).
pimp racerYeah well now atleast we know you will be driving them which is good!Dang only 2500 of the Camry's and yet so cheap?
Oh no wonder. But even as old and with as many miles they have I mean they must have some value of its rareness right? I should ask the folks at our Toyota Dealership ( I think has the largest showroom in the US or in Flordia.) We know them very well so I am sure they will give us an honest answer?M5PowerThey're slow, old Toyota sedans with ten zillion miles on them in most cases. I've seen them as cheap as $750, in running condition.
Yeah, I'd be interested to hear what a dealer would say about it.pimp racerOh no wonder. But even as old and with as many miles they have I mean they must have some value of its rareness right? blargonatori think i have got to see one of those. or was i mistaken? did they make a corolla with the all-trac dealy?
M5PowerYeah, I'd be interested to hear what a dealer would say about it.
