Today we finished up tuning of our second R1K GTR. This one had to meet an overseas shipping deadline so the pressure was on Tym to deliver a safe, yet powerful tune for both 93 octane pump gas and VP Racing Fuel's Q16.

Here is the 93 octane dyno chart:

772AWHP and 688AWTQ

The Q16 dyno chart:

For those of you who said our last dyno sheet from the R1K, where it was the first to break the 1000awhp barrier, was a bit "laggy", here is a comparison:

R1K-Dyno-Session-2---Q16-Race-Fuel-vs-R1K-1.jpg

Dyno on this latest run was a peak of 36 tapering to 32psi at the end of the pull.

Build video is coming soon...

"Laggy" it may appear to be, but I'd be deliriously happy with any car that hits 300 at the wheels under 4000 rpm...

So, what this thing running? an air-shifted Lenco? XD

Seriously, though, that's some monster power. I don't think I'd ever know what to do with all of it. I'd be afraid of breaking something.

Isnt AWTQ some kind of fallacy? I remember Some member of GTPlanet explaining why you couldnt measure Torque at the Wheels, but anyway, Seems like a rocket and I bet it can go faster than its brother the R34 👍

I don't know how dynos measure the torque, but, generally, if you took the rolling radius (in feet), and multiplied by the amount of linear force being exerted (in lbf), you'd get the turning moment at the center in lb*ft...in that gear, with that final drive ratio. I think when you start getting into gears, that's where you start getting your error: Lower ratio will have same power - more torque, while higher ratio will have same power, less torque. Power is Work*Speed, so with the wheels turning faster, but with less torque, you get the same power.

If you have the same car, and use the same gear each pull, you get, at least, how much power you gain.

Power compared to stock is the only thing that matters. With the GT-R, it's always difficult to tell what's what because of the gear ratios and the way the ECU modulates the power based on ambient conditions.

Whatever, any car that puts down near-1000 horses at the wheels on a Mustang dyno (which typically reads a lot lower than the more common Dynojet) is a monster.

A GTR with this package is capable of an 8 second 1/4 mile time at full weight. We have hit a 9.38 @ 156 on the old tune, and that was with a 1.6x 60'.. Drop the 60' two tenths and you could be in the 8's with it. Bench racing at it's best lol...

A stock GTR on that dyno hits about 400 or so awhp. Pretty crazy we almost doubled that output on 93 octane alone..

Doesn't that mean you need to install a Rollcage as per NHRA regulations? I was pretty sure that NHRA required a cage if you ran less than Tens.

Stock (insert poorly worded joke about "fragile" transmissions here) transmission? Probably not with "launch control" active if the 60' times are in that range. What a monster.

As an aside: Have the aftermarket finally gotten performance tranny fluids out on the market for the car yet?

We run this trans upgrade package on the R1K cars (full gearset is an option):

Stage 4 $24,999
PPg 6sp gear set
Dodson Pro Max clutch
Dodson FWD retainer
Dodson Mechanical lock #1
Dodson Mechanical lock #2
O-ring and seal upgrade kit
Oil pump shaft upgrade with blueprint
Reusable transmission filter
6 neodymium magnets
High temp rear differential oil seal
HKS transmission pan

We run Dodson fluids with their clutches.

Here is a video of just how loose the car can get on a launch:

Technically speaking, yes NHRA requires a full cage to run the times we are, but most clients want a "street car" with that performance...

Do the Dodson fluids help the guys with standard transmissions? I might know an owner or three interested. Do you ship to the Pacific?

Oh... and the NHRA won't know how fast the car is until it breaks 10 at the track... all most owners will need is one time slip, right? :D

I have not seen a whole lot of tests that really wow me on any particular fluid, so I can't exactly give an honest opinion on what exactly works best. I do know that the factory diff fluid is a joke and tends to make the diffs act up. We had one that the owner thought he blew up the diff (it was locked up and clunking in the lot), we changed the fluid to Dodson and it worked perfectly...

We ship worldwide buddy.

Have them shoot me over an email, Neil @ Switzerperformanceinnovation.com

Thanks!

Okay, will do. Sorry for dragging this OT. As a further OT, though, know Jack Baruth? Give him my regards.

Wow who doesn't know Jack Baruth? How do you know him? Feel free to PM if you wish.

This thread is meant to be OT LOL!

I would like to have our Sledgehammer Porsche 997TT in GT6...

We're co-contributors on a motoring website. I pitched in two or three articles while he was away, then he came back. Which means no more articles from me. They only need one wild man writing for them. Baruth is one crazy guy. His writing is genius. No way I can compete with that.

He might recall me as a commenter on the site, but my stint writing was when he was out.

I will send them new articles sometime, but another writer has already done the GT5 review. As soon as I get another interesting test drive, I'll send them something. But not right now.

Good luck. It's more likely they'll include an HKS 600 before they get one of your R35s or Porsches, but you can always dream. With Switzer being one of the best at getting power out of the R35, though, it's only a matter of time before they notice.

Hopefully if they introduce Forza-style DLC, one of your cars will make it. ;) Hmmm... I should link to your R1K on one of my other boards... I'm pretty sure I know a guy who'd like a 1000 hp R35 to go with his 1000 hp R34... :D
