Debating upgrading to shifter and and pedals. Do they help performance? Are they fun to have?

Anybody know how to mount to playseat challenge? I saw ones mounting video on YouTube.

Here goes my opinion:
- Fun to drive...yes.
- Help performance...no.
If you have the money and intend to drive manual cars in games...go for it....if not...it's not a cheap add-on to use a few times only.

I agree with knd. The pedals might help performance slightly, but using an H pattern shifter will make you lap slower. If you race online you are unlikely to use a manual shifter. If however you mainly race offline and have the money they are worth considering.

I have a T500 which comes with the better pedals as standard. I bought the shifter when the TH8RS first came out (the previous version), but don't use it much as it is slower.
