This question is for other Thrustmaster T300 RS users and it pertains specifically only to GT6 so that's why I put it in this forum instead of the hardware forum.

So i'm discovering that like Darin Gangi mentioned in his review, hitting pause still resets any changes you make to the degrees of rotation with this wheel (holding the Mode button and Left or Right on the D Pad)

Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way around this? Or has PD seriously not patched this problem yet? This is just ridiculous in my opinion because this wheel is 1080 degrees by default which is way too much in my opinion, especially for F1 cars.

Somebody, please tell me there's a workaround.

Also, any trouble with other console games or is it just GT6? Darin mentioned that Dirt 3 doesn't have this issue at all.

Unfortunately for GT6 there's not a work around yet that I know of..
For me it defaults to 900 every time I re enter the track.
Gets pretty interesting steering with my knee while changing the setting..
I still love this wheel though.. I have no regrets at all..
Hopefully they will get us a patch for it..
I'd tend to think they might at some point given this is the official PlayStation wheel now.

It defaults to 900? Well that's good. I just thought it was reverting back to 1080. It's really not the steering wheels fault. It's PD's half donkeyed support of the wheel.

I'm loving the wheel too. Can't wait to try Assetto Corsa, iracing, and Driveclub with it. Literally my first lap with it was 1.5 seconds faster than I was with my DFGT on Bathurst.

Haven't messed with the rotation settings at all in GT6 but also haven't driven any of the F1 styled cars yet.

When you exit GT6 and drop into the XMB area, are you able to correctly use the D pad to navigate the menus? As soon as I get to the menu and move the D pad I end up immediately scrolling to the bottom of said category and can't move between columns.

That's weird. Make sure the switch on your wheel is set to PS3, and try unplugging it.

It is definitely set to PS3 as I have no games to use it with on PS4 yet. I will unplug it and test. Since I've been shutting the console down directly from within GT6, I'll pull the pedal connection before leaving the game as well though the pedals mappings shouldn't result in D pad travel.

And thanks to your post, I'll have to try out an F1 car to see just how bad 1080 rotation is. ;)

Actually messing with the pedals might be what's causing it. I know on my DFGT that pushing in a pedal would cause exactly what's happening to you.

Plus, the manual for the wheel says to avoid disconnecting the pedals while the wheel is on because they're not able to recalibrate properly when you plug them back in.

I only touch the pedals while during the race loading screen (immediately before being dropped on track), I give both pedals a couple of presses through the full range. As for disconnecting them, it would only be after the game is saved and I'm looking to stop for the night; I'll unplug the peddles and work my way out of GT6 and into the XMB to see if the problem still exists. If it does, the problem is somewhere in the base (running latest firmware). If it doesn't, peddles are the culprit and easy to resolve. I just need my CPX to arrive. ;)

Well if the pedals are disconnected while you're in the XMB I'd almost guarantee that's the cause

I meant I would attempt to disconnect them and see what the XMB reaction is, I realize my comments above appear to state that I have removed the pedals. I'll test tonight when I get home.

Oh. Well I do know that on PC, the pedals need to be inverted to work right. Like in AC after selecting the pedal axis, the resting position is at 100% before you invert it, and same with the brake pedal.

I think that's why when I unplugged my DFGT pedals the same thing would happen as what's happening to you. (DFGT pedals also need to be inverted)

Bringing this thread back up from the grave. Did anyone have a solution to get the 900 setting to not change with this wheel while using gt6? 1080 is way to much and is getting annoying to have to reset it for every race. Thanks!

Not that I know of.. I believe it defaults to 900 though.. And with Karts it defaults to a shorter rotation angle..
Which one I don't remember, but it's just right for that.. Of course the Karts probably matters very little to most..
And yes, it is a bummer having to shorten the rotation every session.. Doesn't bother me as I prefer the default rotation anyway..

My default doesn't seem to be 900 because before entering a race and I press mode+left I get 4 blinks and if I try mode+right then I only get 1 blink which indicates to me that I always get 5 blinks or 1080 to start with. I guess I will have to contact Thrustmaster.

I have a T500 rather than a T300, but I am pretty sure that the Thrustmaster wheels don't go over a maximum of 900 degrees when using them with GT5 or GT6. The number of degrees of rotation in GT games depends on the car being driven. It would obviously be better if it was adjustable - personally I would like it to be part of the tuning sheet for each car.

Darin mentioned that Dirt 3 doesn't have this issue at all.

I tried Dirt 3 and found it unplayable with my T500 due to lack of degrees of rotation - it only turned about 90 degrees to left or right (approx 180 degrees in total).

I have got used to the degrees in GT6 now and the only car that causes me problems is the Formula GT at Cote Dazur - in real life the F1 drivers use a different steering rack for that circuit and it makes sense for the game to feature an adjustable steering rack - if it was in the tuning sheet with an option of standard (as fitted to the car), quick and custom it could be tailored to all tastes and would be particularly useful to those who drift with a wheel.

That's strange. Maybe it's a T500 issue because Darin said that basically all Codemasters games save any changes you make to the rotation of your wheel on PS3. I can confirm F1 2015 does on PS4 as well.

And I agree, the F1 cars are very tough to drive with even 900 degrees. I usually use 360 or 270. In F1 2015, always 270. I miss the Ferrari F1's. Don't know what PD was thinking letting those slip. We seriously need them back, the Formula GT isn't enough.

Hope GT Sport has more open wheel cars. I hate it when racing games forget to include open wheelers. They should be mainstays in ever racing game as they are in real racing
