Wow! The amazon price is the lowest I have seen for the base unit. I am so tempted to pick one up, but I may wait for Fanatec CSRE and CSW reviews.

There is one used one for $381.84 (from Amazon marketplace seller "clickclackclickclack") but Amazon.com also has a new one listed for $385.85 available from Amazon with Prime shipping (which is free 2nd day air).

Just bought one!!!

Screw fanatec, I've been waiting 2 yrs for the clubsport shifter which Thomas promised to release again and again.

Who knows when the CSW will be released, and imo the CSR E just looks ugly with the orange colour. The CSW looks 10x better but won't be released for a long time!

I think he means it's not neutral colour- like black or darkish grey would be. Orange or Red is very noticeable colour and while it's great on a fruit but on an equipment that you might have to look at while (playing at) driving, you need to be the right person for that.

But back to the CSR-E- I thought the colour scheme is that of Forza 4:

Does anyone here do plastic modeling? If so, you may know about the U.S. Federal Standard 595 system used to describe many (but not all by any means) colors. The system allows modelers to find the exact same finish and gloss of colors to ensure accuracy when painting a model.

According to the image I downloaded from Fanatec's website then checked in CS4 Photoshop it is Orange, well closer to the shade of Orange then Red. On the color picker we have R:255, G:118, B:108.

Here's the color picker with the eyedropper, I placed an arrow to highlight the eyedropper. It could be interpreted as an Red color I suppose

I know we're way OT, but that level of obsession cracks me up. Having finally received my CSR Elite I can confirm it is indeed on the orange side, a tomato red (supermarket tomato red, not that rich, home grown color). I suppose marketing guys would prefer we call it "racing orange".

Also, are you running a color profiler add-on in your browser? The image looks like it's D50.

The CSR-E is beautiful yo. But so is the T500RS. you are right I could have sworn Thomas has been talking bout the CSS for quite sometime now.

I would say that 'patience is a virtue' and tell you to hold off buying one if you can. I am sure in the new year and when the Fanatec CSW wheel is released we may see another price war!
