T500RS and Clubsport Pedals...

Can someone please clarify what all this "insider" information means. LogiForce says that no, a T500 + CSP will not work on PS3. Then PzR Slim says that his work just fine. Then mrbasher shows a nice picture of something that I have no idea as to what it is, how it connects, or what it does. Is there anyone who can just tell me (for sure) if it can be done and how ?

What I referred to (not knowing about Basher's new doohickey) is plugging in the T500 via USB into the PS3 and plugging in the CSP via USB into the PS3. That way of connecting will not work.
Even any Fanatec wheel via USB on the PS3 plus the CSP via USB on the PS3 will not work. There is simply no standalone support for the CSP via USB on the PS3, and thus they will need to be always connected via a wheel.

So standalone USB pedals on PS3 will simply not work.

Thank you everyone for the clear explanation and please forgive my ignorance. I've just recently rebuilt my T500 pedal set and after disassembly and reassembly I'm not so impressed by the design or execution. I've had two broken resistance springs in 13 months and from what I've seen, the Club Sport Pedals are a superior design. I've just recently been entertaining the idea of switching to the CSP and didn't get a clear answer from them through their support system. Most of the dialog here went down some time ago so I'm grateful you guys are still tuned in and helping people. When mrbasher gets his adapter to market, I will most certainly be in line to get one ... where will you post information about it's availability ? Thank you

The truth is that 911 based wheels aren't made for long stints, it says in the manual that the wheel shouldn't work for more that 1 hour under continous FFB.

I had disconnection issues, I grounded the cockpit and still had issues (worse than ever).
Then I read this thread: Fanatec ffb 1 hour ?

And then I posted my theory here: Observation on Fanatec's Disconnection Problem

On PC I have no idea, people have been saying that USB ports were the problem but on PS3 it has to do something with PS3 mode and (of course) cooling, or should I say - lack of it.

I have the GT3 and the CSR and the GT3 did have a faulty fan. Wouldn't work for more than 2 hour until the FFB turned off due to heat. Changed the fans and raced easily for 3-4 hours on lemans last year in SCES. Have no problems with my CSR either.

No need to apologize. ;)

Keep an eye here http://www.basherboards.com/

I plan to put up a "waiting list" form today so that I can get a good idea of just how many people plan to purchase these. When the time comes that they are actually released, the orders will be handled in the order they are received. There will be no pre-orders. I don't operate like that. Being a "one man show", I can't operate like that in good conscience. What if I die in a car accident or something before the orders can be filled?

I put myself on said list. :)

ps. Let's hope you don't get in any odd accident, like Micheal Schumacher for example. I believe there's enough snow in the states to go skiing at the moment.

Good deal. :)

And yes, let's hope that I stay safe! I have a baby on the way! (literally... Not this adapter haha)

I am already driving around with one that is 7 weeks old now (got into a stepdad kind of role). So yeah, I definitely know the feeling. Believe me, once he is there you start to drive even safer than you do now, instinctively that is. In the first place to keep both safe and lastly so that the little one doesn't wake up.

Congratulations on becoming father though! Enjoy every moment of the rollercoaster that you are in now. It will be good memories to keep, every step of it. :)

Any further updates on the adapter. I put my name in for one on your email list, but have never heard anything back ? Are you still planning on selling these ?

Well there hasn't been any real news yet to send out. However, an update will be going out soon to everyone that has signed up for notifications. The design is done, the boards are ordered, I'm just waiting to receive them which unfortunately takes some time. Then I have to actually MAKE them. I don't discuss numbers publicly but I can tell you, I am going to have my work cut out for me making enough of these! Don't worry though, I will have the necessary stock available on the first run. That is part of the reason I let people sign up for product availability notifications.

Basher, are you going to work together with Fanaleds to give control over the ABS motor, or are you thinking of supporting all game APIs yourself... if at all?
If needed I could hook you up with Gerben Bol from Fanaleds.

I wish you the best of luck with the busy times ahead at least. ;)

Here's a little something I whipped up... :p

Just have to finish up the code and then somehow manage to make these as quickly as people seem to need them!

This is the actual device, not a rendering.

I think I liked the red knobs in your render better personally, though it might look better in real life. Though nothing keeps me from swapping them at some point.

Good luck with coding, mate. Can't wait to get mine. I will make sure to place my order the minute you are ready to throw some at us hungry wolves. lol

I liked them too. Unfortunately, finding the right knobs for the right pots that fit the enclosure, etc. is not too simple. The pots I originally purchased were set up for a specific pattern on the knob, the red knobs have a different pattern as it turned out.

In the end, these knobs were what I was going to use to start with anyhow. They are a D shaft. They are also alluminum so they look quite nice in person. The phone camera doesn't really do any of it much justice.

As a side note, using Solidworks to design the whole thing really made life much easier. I could have done it without, but using a calculator and going off datasheets for this stuff really bites. This way I could import the models, put them where I want them, then go from there.

MrBasherman... awesome product again that CPX. Works flawlessly!

Just received mine today by mule train, which was suprisingly quick. As usual the stuff is top quality and everything is as plug and play as can be.

I hope you'll make more people happy soon, as they are a sure hit... 2 minute sell out on the first batch according to you!
