It's also not activating while keeping it pressed (or pressing, depressing it) during countdown at start of race.

Using Mazda Roadster, one of the cars marked on internet as 'clutchable'.

Do not have a H shifter, use flappy pedals, maybe that's the reason ?

Any suggestion ? Driving me prety nuts :-)

It's a great game but no clutch is a big letdown for a 'sim'.

(as well as mixing fictional cars with real life ones, and the sub-standard Youtube integration for the guidance vids)

Thanks !

Clutch only works with H shifter. Just like in real cars.
What about the numerous real race cars with a clutch and sequential gear box?

F1 cars have paddles and a clutch (it's hand operated, but still a clutch), just about every Touring Car and GT car has a clutch a stick sequential (not H pattern), as do WRC spec cars. They may only be used when starting to move the car from a standstill either in the pits, during a pit stop or from a standing start, but they still have a driver operated clutch.

Not that the clutch works correctly with H pattern shifters in GTS either.

Clutch pedal only works if u use standard transmission and a h-shifter. Using racing transmission then clutch is deactivated.
I love shifting by using all pedals and h-shifter but in gt-s it is very poor. Its more a on/off thing and lot of fail shifts... it´s not enjoyable and have no impact on physics aspect so it is pretty senseless :) same like in gt5/6 :/

Yeah its pretty piss poor for a (real driving simulator ) to have such a pathetic clutch , normal shifts are bad enuff but heal and towing is next to impossible. Really thought they would get it right this time

Good point, I should have clarified, in terms of street cars with paddle shifters, none have a dedicated clutch pedal (even the earliest ones like the F355). And yes I have driven sequential race cars and you do use the clutch from a standstill and it does work while driving if you're so inclined.

Thanks, but still a bit weird. I mean for cars without flappy pedals like the Mazda Roadster the argument doesn't really hold. It won't be realistic to use a clutch with flappy pedals (by the way, I didn't know none of them have a clutch irl, learning moment here), but using flappy pedals in such a car isn't realistic to begin with so might as well just throw the clutch in there.

Feels a bit weird that I have to go buy an extra H-shifter just to use the clutch. Weird design decision. Let player decide for themselves how to operate the cars.

(ranting against PD, not against you)

Its very simple:

The clutch pedal on the T500RS only works If the H-pattern gearbox is connected.

The G29 clutch pedal does work without a H-pattern gearbox being connected to the wheel.
