i really want to do a R34 taillight conversion on my 97 Honda civic ex coupe. i know where to get the r34 taillights and my dad has a shop so i'm sure i have the tools but i need to know the procedure. where to make the cuts, wires, ect things of that sort. also would anyone know how much it would cost if i had it done at a fibre shop if i provided the taillights.

Unless you know what you're doing I wouldn't even attempt to do it yourself. I don't have a clue how much that would cost. Hundreds, if not a couple thousand dollars to have somone install them, and make them look like they actually came/belong on the car.

IMO it wouldn't be worth the money spent, or time wasted.

IMO it is a waste of money Delano. . . You are trying to mack out a civic.

What year is the civic, what engine does it have in it? Why? IMO I would personnally work on whatever performance that car can get instead of looks.

Looks are nice if you are going to do car shows, but if not all that will happen is you will get laughed at for it.

I don't mean to be cruel in saying it, but if living in California is different then anywhere else in the US,

then it might be socially accepted. Most cops I know here in Florida look for people that do

these kinda things to their car because first thought when they see something macked out like that,

"A ricer", "A street racer", "a punk", etc. Now I am not saying you are one of those,

and I respect you for wanting to do it. It would look sweet, but Function over form.

i respect your opinions but i still want to do it...i'v seen conversions done and i like them plus I just like the look of the skyline taillight. plus the car is for cruising and show but it will have enough power dont worry. :mischievous:

Alright then, I say do it :D I would get a hold of some guy that has been doing modifications for a while and has a good portfolio available for you to see, even if the price would be a little more expensive. I have a thing with doing custom work. Do it right and do it right the first time. :D

It's your car so do what you want with it...hell thats why you bought it. Just don't be a rice boy and drive like a jackass.

I think the tails would look pretty good if you could figure out how to do it.

Got any pics of your ride?

thanks....if i remember when i'm done i will put them up.....
hey your the one who is doing the interior project right.....keep us up on how thats goin and if you want ideas im here. i also want to trick out my interior. keep me up on your progress.

eww..don't put nissan lights on a honda..just wrong..at least stick to your brand...get some S2000 lights or something. (though I think that'll still look hideous)
I'm really not a fan of crazy body work..I've seen an Civic with R34 tailights and it just doesn't look good. I'd say do some engine and suspension work and make your car fast and skip all the Ricy body work. If your car already is fast than get a tasteful body kit that doesn't make your car look like a Transformer reject and maybe some nice Recaro or Sparco seats or something inside with matching upholstry (spelling?). Then you'd have a pretty nice Civic.
:)

i can respect that....do you/ or could you get a picture of that civic so i can see....i'v never seen it but in my mind it looks good......dont worry i have the money saved up to trick out the engine and the interior....im going to put custom two tone leather inside form auto leather's and all the other works.....as for the body kit i'm still thinking on it but i might get the R33 kit look it up at extreme dimensions.com and tell me what you think.....

I saw S2000 tails on a 2nd gen. Eclipse once, and it actually looked good.:odd:

that sounds cool ...... but the skyline R34 tailights are my favorite. at least for a civic. although i wouldnt mind having the WHOLE SKYLINE.

I'll see if I can find a picture of that civic..I had a picture of a Civic SI with R34 tailights and an Accord with R34 tailights and they both looked bad..the taillight assemply on both sides is too big so you end up having to change the shape of the back of the car to make them fit...I'll have to find the pictures because I don't know how to describe it
