How are the physics comparing to Prologue and the 370Z Challenge Time Trial?

This question is quite important to me or else I won't enjoy this game even if the graphics are superb. I actually want to have the physics of Prologue than the Time Trial.

Watch for yourself http://multiplayer.it/video/gran-turismo-5-per-ps3/gran-turismo-5-videoanteprima-e3-2010.lo/ It's definitely like the TT demo, that GT-R looks extremely uncontrollable and weight shifts like crazy...I'm a little worried. Plus the sound of the Ferrari 458 is the same sound used for the F430 in GT5p

I'm downloading the high quality mp4 version from their site as I write this

Hope it's not too late...
1) Is the AI in the E3 GT5 demo is the final AI in the game? or, saying differently - Do you PD "hide" the real AI presentation for the final release?
2) Is there an option for "bots" in the private rooms?
3) Does the damage we've seen in previous clips (the hood/door open, the bumper fall) is the damage of the premium cars, you PD is holding the info for the final game?

I don't think anyone else gives a crap about those questions.
I could point to threads that prove you wrong. I agree they don't matter to most of the audience but especially on the Internet you'll find more than me that care.

This is how I would addres the cockpit question:

Mr. Yamauchi, after seeing the meticulous attention to detail given to all the cars on the E3 showfloor, many have wondered if they can expect the other 800 standard cars to show a modest degree of interior modeling or an interior baring characteristics such as a dashboard, hands on the steering console, and steering animations?

Well i had to google it, my PS2 broke, so I can't play GT4 :(

And if they didn't include reverse tracks in GT4, why would they start doing so all of a sudden in GT5? Makes no sense, which is why I believe that there are 70 tracks in 20 countries.

Because they did have reverse tracks in GT4. They just didn't count them in the track total, but they started to count them in the track total in GT5P and counted them as part of GT:PSP's track count as well.

All these specific details are nice to be answered but can also lead to a complicated answer not making things very clear.

The question should be simple and rather blunt; do all cars have cockpit view at least to the same degree as Prologue?

Whatever extra the Premium cars are offering is probably irrelevant ( although undoubtedly mind-blowing ) now as the main question a lot would like to see answered is whether the Standard cars have a modelled cockpit at all.

Don't worry, Standard physics are going to be easier to use, along the lines of what we had in prologue.

Pro physics were only available in the Time Trial demo. And most of the videos we have seen are using pro physics to appease the sim racing fans.

I think that the time trial demo physics were hands down better than the pro physics in prologue, if you're looking for realism. The only notable problem is drifting was too difficult in the TT demo, but that could be because of the cars, we'll just have to wait and see.

You are going to be dissapointed then, physics engine is total new and and improved realism over prolouge. How it is compared to TT physics I ofcourse dont know... but its likely its very simular..

On professional mode yeah. Standard should still be fun.

2 things Im most concerned with.

1. Depth of modding, will it be improved from the previous games, GT had been using basically the same modding system through the entire series. It needs to be changed to a non linear format.

2. Sound quality. Biggest problem in any of the GT games. the sound quality has not increased in quality in the same way as the graphics have. The sound in 4 wasn't that great and the sound in Prologue isn't that great either. Most cars do not sound like their real life counterparts.

Yeah good point, standard physics will always be there for those who think pro is too hardcore.. + alot of driving aids, so I think its something for everyone;)

And if standard physics are too easy and you struggle with Rear wheel drive in pro physics, theres always Four Wheel Drive :sly:

I speak from experience.

I don't know about that Seismica have a look at that video with the GT-R at Toscana, it looks incredibly uncontrollable

Agree that the GTR in that video looked too unstable. The GTR is about the most stable of all high performance cars sold...even on gravel it shouldn't spin that easy.

I also agree the TT physics seemed too much like driving on ice--prologue was more realistic. Difficult does not mean realistic... many modern tires have nice, relatively manageable behavior at the limit of adhesion.

I think you might be over estimating the grip levels of normal cars. Still there's always standard mode until you want more of a challenge.

I think they both had they're pros and cons, good and bad. I just hope we can drift in the full game, I have real drifting experience so if the physics are any good I shouldn't struggle all that much like I did in the TT demo. We'll have to wait and see.

Except it requires a different technique in the game. At least, I heard it did in Prologue due to the lack of full clutch support.

Been gone a while. Has anyone asked the question, Can we turn part or all of the HUD off?

What is the twitter account to follow? @honda?

You were supposed to tag like this #e3 #honda. On other notes ("Bmore in the house lol")

Still a little lost. I was supposed to tag the question here #e3 #honda? Where are we going to get to view the live interview, gtplanet's twitter page? Thanks

It seems that question can be asked now but answers won't come until 3pm est 12pm pst. IMO start asking now.
