taking pictures of backfire

So, I jumped in my newly painted NISMO 380RS, went over to Practise, and chose London. I drove one lap...

Then I spent one hour and forty six minutes watching replays of that one lap, over and over, pausing whenever I thought I'd catch the backfire...

Until...

any tips on taking these photos, I can never seem to pause the replay on time, always after then I have to restart replay again, it must take ages to get a pic
