taking pictures of backfire

Only one flame, with two exhausts, I love the randomness of the backfire in GT5.

Finally got one with my TVR. In the night which makes it more awesome :).
 
how do you get shots like this where the wheels are perfect?

when i try i can get the car looking pretty decent but the wheels dont look half as good.
 
You need to make the shutter speed higher, 1/8000 makes everything sharp.
Otherwise everything that moves will get blurry, including the backfire.

call me what you like but im not that tech savvy when it comes to uploading the pictures from my gt5 to get them into this thread, could someone pm me some easy to follow instructions? I love what you guys have done and i have a few that i'd like to share!
 
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned in the last 10 pages but I've captured on shot of a backfire that dissapeared on a Zonda R. It was clearly a big backfire but it just moved forward (when taking the picture) into the car, but since the zonda is so low and the exhaust is fairly high up I could still see it on top of the car. It looked as if my Zonda R had caught fire above the motor.

So maybe some cars glitch out and move the image of the backfire into the vehicle (where it can't be seen usually) when photographed.

I've seen similar flames on real cars already, especially on really powerful Turbo cars, it just looks extreme in a photo.

This happened to me too. I managed to pause the replay at the exact moment a foot-long flame shot from the exhausts. It looked great before the picture was taken but became a fiery blob below the wing in the final image. I spent a fair amount of time trying to adjust different settings, frames per second etc, but just couldn't take a shot with the entire length of the flame.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has experienced this problem. I thought I had the wrong camera setup but maybe it's a minor flaw in the game? :boggled:
