Hey everyone,
So as you may have seen from some of my posts maybe, I'm a few weeks into GT7 and sim racing as a newbie, absolutely loving it and am around 50/60 races in and got myself to C A on the rating with a win and a few podiums so still a long way to go.
Been eyeing up all sorts of rigs and this site has been a great resource for info. My first thought of spending 400/500 quid on an entry level set up of G29 and challenge or GT Lite wouldn't have scratched my itch so I want to go in for a DD GT wheel and proper set up of Playseat Trophy for mobility or if I can make it work, a full on set up. However as I am new to this and want to make sure I actually enjoy the transition to a rig before dropping a few GBP I've managed to find a 2nd hand rig for 40 quid that I collect today, now this is old and isn't going to blow anyone away but it gives me a low risk option to try for a month before dropping big cash. Plan is if I love it then I will give this cheaper set up to my friends son and upgrade.
The set up is:
Thrustmaster T150 Wheel
Thrustmaster T3PA Pedals
Next Level GT Extreme cockpit
My plan is to quali and race the rest of the week on Daily race b and see how close or better than my times I get with the set up and if I enjoy it more.
At the moment my best quali time is pretty slow at 1.44.346 so lets see if we can squeek that down into the 1.43's with the new set up
hopefully 2 weeks of controller play will mean my transition isn't too rough.
