Just so we care clear, this car has history of drag and race....not just being slow and occasional firestarter tendencies...👍

Why dont people understand that any car pretty much how ever rubbish as standard, can, with the money, be made to go fast / handle or both.....

is it just me that thinks the Pinto looks awesome aswell? Love the shape.

Mine. S class drag car, first time i ever used the drag option in Forza....OMG, I think im hooked!

its a great car i have one in every avalable class...the people complaining about leaderboard times need to get a life

First car I bought when I downloaded the new pack. Who cares about a Pagani or Lambo when you've got a Pinto. I usually let the new packs sit for weeks before downloading them.
Started with a D class tune and within a few laps of tuning I made it into a 1% leaderboard car. And I ain't that great of a driver.
Why I love little cars. Sometimes the amaze the poop out of me.

Its one of the issues with Forza. See the option to take a Pinto and pop a V8 in it and make it a 0-60 in 2 secs car is there.... but sadly it should once at class S look more like this:

If it did i doupt anyone would wonder what its doing in the leader boards...
this is why Forza needs next time shift 2s level of works conversion.....

My tune doesn't include a engine, aspiration or AWD conversion. Leave that stock block. But yeah, that Mustang engine sway sounds tempting. Conversions in game like that would be awesome. Wheeling bars!

That was the car I was most excited about in that pack! I don't need every supercar in the world, give me cars I can relate to and I am a happy ass camper. This was my dads everyday beater when I was in elementary school back in the early 80's. I think it's great that I can experience it now virtually!

I agree with ShawtyoneR and BryCivicSi. This was the first car I downloaded in the pack. I actually have two of them, both A class, one with the stock block and one V8 conversion. I'm still fine tuning the V8 version. Both are done in classic paints as well! I love this little car!

I'll state this:

Personal opinion nor real world ability should have any actual affect on a car when upgraded to a certain class limit as by definition a pi of 500 for one car means it should have the exact same level of performance as another car of pi 500. Neither car should be 'faster', both should in theory and (considering it's a game) in practice be 'equal', only the track and driver skill level should have any affect on the position which said car reaches on said leaderboard.

So no matter your or my personal opinion of the pinto, the facts show that it is faster than it should be.

I don't care about the leaderboard's so to speak, I care about the 🤬 that use scoreboard cars to inflate their ego online and in doing so ruin the racing for others.

EDIT: Also, I don't doubt that 'any' car can be great with enough money, that's not being disputed, what's being disputed is that the pinto is better when upgraded than it should be because the PI is wrong.

Simply put, it's because they're closed minded...

This is 100% truth.

As others have said, doesn't matter what car it is. Doesn't matter whether it's faster IRL, if it crushed its competition IRL or whether it's a slow POS IRL, if it's a leaderboard car, it sucks. Period.

If it is as much of a LB car as it is supposed to be, T10 should take action as soon as possible. As they did with the Dodge Dart and the like.

We are only three months into this game, have people really tuned enough cars into the game to find all the possible leaderboard toppers yet?

Exactly! I have a couple and they're fun little guys to play with. It's nice to have some offbeat cars for racing - I enjoy the variety and being able to celebrate more aspects of cars as a whole that just the '1%' - i.e. the super cars.

Oh yeah, and they make awesome sleepers. As for being a leaderboard car, I haven't checked but I wouldn't be surprised given that it seems to accelerate quite well (relative of course) in all classes that I've driven one in, and that it handles OK as well.

Am I allowed to hope for a Gremlin in the next DLC? Or have we used up the collective quota for those types of cars?

I want a Pacer. :D

I'll hope with you. Gremin would be nice. So would a Scrambler. Surprised that isn't in the game to be honest with you. I don't really love that year AMX in the game.

I want a Pacer. :D

So would a Pacer. Heck yeah!

Yeah, a Pacer would be epic as well. My preference would be for a post '78 (facelifted) model, fitted with a 401 V8, wide tires, and the rest of the racing gear to match.

They would fear us. :D

As for AMXs, I think a '70 model would be a nice compliment. I personally like the Javelin-based ones but variety is always nice.

Unfair LB cars are never a good thing, but perhaps this thing's unexpected performance potential will help sway the opinions of those who complain about "slow/old/ugly" cars.

One thing people forget is that the comparatively low safety, chassis rigidity, and creature comfort standards of the mid-to-late 20th century mean cars were often significantly lighter than they are today. Haven't gotten a chance to download this DLC pack yet but I'm certain the Pinto is one of those rare cars that can be reduced to under 2000lbs.

I am not too familar with the AMC lineup. I guess I though the AMX was a special package for the Javelin much like the 442 was a package for the Cutlass before it became its own model. And then back to an add-on package. I am wrong? In any case, a '70 Javelin would be nice. The one in the game seems a bit big for my liking and not my taste in the style department.

....I'm certain the Pinto is one of those rare cars that can be reduced to under 2000lbs.

My D tuned car is a couple dozen pounds if that below the 2000 lb mark. I had to use all weight reductions, light wheels but bumped them to 15", race brakes, all lightened trans stuff, and a lighter exhaust. I added the roll bars but no cage.

From 1968 to 1970 the AMX and Javelin were distinct models with their own body styles. The Javelin was more of a pony car with a longer wheelbase and room for four. The AMX was based on the Javelin but had a shorter wheelbase, only two seats and was the more performance oriented of the two. From 1971 until 1974 the AMX was a package of sorts for the standard Javelin - they shared the exact same body style.

So yeah, sounds just like the Olds - except that I'm not overly familiar with those!

But reading your post reminded me of this Javelin ad...:)

Yeah main point of the thread though was regarding how its funny how the assumption that a dog of a car like the Pinto is beyond realms of reality that it could actually be modified to be a fast race car / road car or drag car.....

Whether Turn 10 messed up its PI is besides the point in this case.

Anyone ever wondered if Turn 10 put LB cars in these car packs so people will have to buy them to be competitive?

just a thought.

my buddy also was wondering why a pinto? I had to explain to him the drag racing history of the car and told him i hope we get a chevy vega as well!

Almost every DLC pack has a car that turns/turned into a LB car, doesn't it?

That LB/DLC sales conspiracy is slightly flawed. The last person I questioned about this I asked them to name the LB cars that were part of a DLC. 90% of the cars named were the free car from each pack. Most LB cars were on the Disc. This was for FM3

So far 90% of the LB/DLC cars in FM4 have been disabled from posting times and people didn't know they would be LB cars when they were placing Pre-orders so had no incentive for purchasing the LCE other than actually wanting them or the LCE/VIP/Perks itself.

The percentage of people that actually care about LB's are in the minority, I think the number of DLC purchases by people with car interests rather than LB interests outweigh the latter by a huge amount, so much so that it makes it insignificant to T10 .

Kind of funny, I was in a lobby with 7-8 of my buddies a few days ago. They all wanted to do a B class race so I grabbed my Pinto and they all laughed. I was a good 1.5 seconds faster at Hockenheim short then everyone else but I have tuned the crap out of my pinto. I love it, but I'm a Ford guy. Mine is rustic brown, ugly as hell. HAHA

The Pinto makes for a badass G-Machine. My first car was a 77 Pinto and when I was little my dad had a 73.......needless to say I had to have one. Of course....neither performed like my 850+HP AWD monster I have in the game.

At first I was skeptical about the Pinto in-game, sure it was only put in there as some sort of a joke. But after driving around a few a friend of mine tweaked, they are serious contenders in their own right, all styling aside.

I'd be willing to call the Ford Pinto the most underrated car in the entire game.
