I don't know how many of you play the bass but if you do go to

www.talkbass.com

Thanks for the link mate

No problem

This is great man, as far as I know there's at least the three of us here that play Bass...are there any others?

BTW - Bassist are a rare and proud breed, humbled by our calling to be the foundation for our fellow 6-stringed front men! But we all know where the talent really lies.... :)

This is why you go and buy a 7 string :D

And yes the talent relly lies in the back :D

If anyone has Pic's of their Axe, please post them.... I'll try to tonight.. :) I love bass' and enjoy seeing other people's equipment. :)

Here is the pic from Ibanez.com . If I had a digi I'd take a pic of mine but it would look the same.

I also a have a crappy Crate BX-50 amp, a nice Monster Cable, and I just put some Erine Ball Super Slinky Stainless Steel strings on it. Its really slappy. I wish that Elixars would have came on it.

Oh ya I also have some cheap case but my bass sits on the stand most of the time.

Nice man!

Here's the only one I have right now, it's a closeup of my Fender...

I'd post a pic, but I don't have any pics of it
lol
it's an Ibanez RoadStar II from the early 80's (not sure exactly what year)
it was my dads, but he gave it to me a couple years ago.
its the most beautiful sounding bass ive ever played, got a real nice slappy tone, awesome for funk lines, popping and slapping is a dream!
:D
*hugs bass*

If you got any mp3's of some stuff...post 'em.

My first entry is on my fretless, jammin with a guy I had never jammed with before so it's pretty raw, but none the less, it is what it is:

www.blueonion.net/media/pako-on-the-train.mp3 (160kps, 5.35mb)

fretless eh?
I'm thinking of buying a used bass, and defretting it by myself :D
must be a 24 fret though!
then, ill be able to play jerry was a racecar driver and all sorts of claypool lines in all their fretless glory!
YAY FOR ME!
somewhere down the road theres a Hartke 5 string with my name on it too.. muahahhaha

[/bragging spree]

Hartke, eh? Cool... Right now I'm looking into a new bass rig. I'm leaning towards SWR, but Eden would be nice also. I'm hoping that this rig will be the last for a loooooong time.

I'm currently playing through a Peavy T-Max Tube preamped Head powering my 2-10" cab and tweet with my 15" cab on the bottom. It's got great thick tone, but it's lacking for slap. That's where I'm leaning towards a SWR head power 2-4/10" cabs, for a total of 8-10" speakers and two tweets. I would hope that this kind of rig would fill all my appetite for slapin' tone as well as that thick full bottom tone.

Any thoughts?

I just have a Crate BX-50. Sadly.

Crate BX-50? There's not a lot of headroom there, but the built in effects are pretty nice, and when your looking to just plug in and go, it's nice not having to get the hand cart, pack your cabinets in, spend 10 minutes to hook everything up, then forget that rif you had in your head.

If you ever upgrade, do NOT get rid of that amp, as it might forever be your best friend.

Might I inquire what you spent on it?

I spent 250 bucks on it. It's just a little amp. It works well for playing blues though.

Cool, I was just trying to get an idea what to sell my current rig for. This is what I decided.

It's a Peavy T-Max 500w Head, 2x10" w/ tweeter cab, 1x15" cab. I think I should advertise it for $600....

I just got my new rig ordered and should be here in a week or so.... I CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had 600 bucks I'd buy it

I own an Ibanez EDB600 and a crappy crate BX15. I am going to upgrade soon though to a gallien krueger 800RB with probably and avatar 410

I've never checked out the GK stuff or the Avatar stuff, but I hear a lot good things about it....

I finally ordered my SWR SM-900 head to go with my SWR Goliath III 4x10" cab.

When things get paid off, I'll add a 4x10" Eden Cab to it for a nice mix of solid tone (this is my hope that is....)

Well it's in, and I'm piecing it together.... I'll try to post a pic when I get it all set up...

nice

Finally I have a pic....

On the left is my Warwick, 5-string Corvette Std Fretless. On the right we have my Jazz American Standard 4-String, Semi-Transparent Blonde Finish. In the middle we have my SM-900 Head (900 watts) stitting on top of my Goliath III (4x10" Cab)...

I'm just giddy! :D:D:D:D

Mmm...warwick. Nice setup by the way

Thanks streetracer780.... I;m currently looking into the Aphex 240 Aural Exciter to add to it...

:D

Thats pretty nice

, and it can be yours for only $600.00 plus shipping and handling. :)

well I don't have 600 bucks to spend on a rig right now, sadly.
