Well me and fellow GTP member -BB-ANDY were busy drifting away dilly dally online, nothing to special but great fun.

...until we pulled off an absolute peach of a twin drift round T1 on Suzuka. I simply could not believe what we'd just done. There was nowhere else to put this, but i figure it needs a mention somewhere, and maybe we've started a new thing for online drifting until dedicated drift mode is possible and/or private lobbies.

Here's the crudest map you've ever seen displaying what happened.
Blue dotted line = Myself in black Amuse/Opera 350Z
Red dotted line = -BB-ANDY (or GTP_NOS) in red Amuse/Opera 350Z
Green dots being points of overtake with NOS being the lead car entering the turn.

The first of those overtakes IS as close as my rubbish map suggests, my back bumper just centimetres away from his front as i dived up the inside, leaving the bend he repayed the favour by carrying more speed and taking advantage of the extra speed i had to scrub off from the move. We both held high angle during the entire move. It's also worth noting this was 600PP, ie S2 tires, thus we entered the turn at over 100mph and straightened up doing around 70.

Hopefully we can sort out some drift meets in the future as I'm now inspired to do even more !

If only we would of caught it on video, was a great moment :D.

Seeing as this was my first taste of drifiting online it was so fun! Drifting meets would be really cool, hope to see more people drifting online :)

i'm up for drifting on-line this is a good thread for organizing meets tracks and pp etc

i'm on at the moment on Suzuka PP600

Just had a game with GTP_NOS and GTP_Hyperuk

i was in the gravel more than on the tarmac

i have a lot to learn:guilty:

Wo there guys... Lol Don't use this thread to find out who's online when, and when to meet. Lets discuss tandem drifting online, and these two guys amazing drift they pulled off!!!

I have to say, Congradulations to both of you! One of the hardest things for me, was to learn how to drift, than find out I need to CHANGE the way I drift, to tandem with someone else. But I think what makes someone a GOOD drifter, is that they CAN do this, and can read other car's. You guys did a great job, I just REALLY wish there was a replay, it would have looked amazing!

It did... believe me it did.

I saw the gap he'd left and thought its do or die. And do we did. I never expect to equal that one single moment for a long while yet. True D1 style stuff.

I had a race with you @ suzuka, you noticed I was drifting along and you happily joined in. Great drifting ;), you had some crazy powersildes going down the straight, I was like WTF!

Anyway lol, hope to see you drifting again.:)

uhhhh if it were a true tandem...the following car wouldn't of passed the lead car..(just my .02 cents) and BTW there has been organzied drifting on GT5P for a while now between a few of the members on GTP. and how come i never seen you seen drifting, i drift all the time on GT5P.....

DD has been tandeming since GT4 muahhahhahahahahha

Two things are in tandem when they are on the same wavelength so to speak, this means we both knew what was going on, and what was happening, how each other would react to the situation. A range of things, you don't have to neccessarily be identical to one another.

Glad people are finding out what drifting really is....as for it being a new online thing....sorry...people have been tandeming in gt since gt4 and perhaps in gt3

And MC3, NFS, TDU, D1GP the game. I didn't think it was new to online at all, i run a drift team myself on Midnight Club 3 and have been involved in drifting for 3-4 years now in various ways. But this is the first real online drifting on GT5P.

Ok...I was only referring to the Gran Turismo franchise...and if you didn't think it was new...don't say "maybe we've started a new thing for online drifting..." Glad you can share your first experience on that one occasion...keep it up. There will be many more that you will experience.👍

My reference was to GT5P only, as no other GT has been online in the normal manner without use of Xlink and so on. But no-one mentioned doing any sort of true team drifting on GT5P although i myself have just drift with someone before. Anyway, problem i'm having right now is finding other PAL drifters who are on as much as myself. My black Z is collecting dust now.

Grab a US ver of prologue and come have fun. I am on a SDTV or else I might have euro version to sit next to my jpn and us versions.

Theres no problem with having 2+ versions of the game.

You're right there's no problem with it, but its silly for me because i don't want to re-do the game and transfer all my set ups, to then play the same races with different people.

I'm up for drifting online. I haven't played GT5P online in awhile, they added that feature? because if i remember correctly, it was strickly trial runs online.

No new feature, just improvisation, meet in a race like normal, drop to the back and drift away.
