Hi all

I noticed that the Pugeot 205 Turbo 16 Ev02 Rally Car has 465 horsepower stock, yet, when I put my 495 horsepower au CERUMO Supra against it at George V Hard, I only got 8 a-spec points. I figured it has the type of tires that we're using(I was using the standard R3's), but, unfortunately, there's no preview button for the rally events to see the tires that the opponent is using. So, from your guys' experience rallying, what tires do you think the AI use for the tarmac rallys?

I've been thinking that since you don't actually take tire wear in the rally's, that the AI has the same tires as your car. Now this is just a theory and I'm most likely wrong, but here it goes. eg, if you have soft racing tires the AI would have the same. If you have hard racing tires the AI would have the same. Good question though.

I'd say superhard, 'cos they're the ones that come stock with the car. I think they race with the default tyre. :)

There's no real difference in handling between tyre-types in tarmac rallies anyway. I ran some 20 laps of Citta di Aria with Super-hards, and then another 20 with Super-softs. There wasn't much variation in my times at all.

boy, i think there is a big difference with the grip of the tires. with super-hards (or any hard / sports tire) im all over the place when they are blue, bluish-green. but once there in there prime, (green, greenish yellow, yellow) im sticking to the track. but with super softs, im already stuck to the track when they are cold (blue) in the rally races, (or any race without tire wear) youre tires are in the best gripping condition, so i think with raly races, there is a big difference with tire selection.

.......but, thats just my 2 cents :sly:

I won tsukuba wet hard with the WRX touring car. Needed RSS tires to do it but was able to pull on the R92 that I was racing against at every turn though he was right on my *** at the end of the main straight. AWD and RSS tires are a really good combo for tsukuba wet.

Yeah, I was going to guess R1's since they come with the rally cars stock and because of the low amount of a-spec points I got with the race I mentioned above. Thanks for the info.
