Sounds like even if Kent is on the dry side, life could still be hellish at the moment. :( Hopefully everything's alright and he just doesn't have the means to let us know.

what pisses me off is that the god damned city is below sea level and inches from the sea and yet they don't make a levee big enough to withstand a catagory 4 hurricane. if a catagory 4 hurricane creates a 20 foot storm wall, what the hell good is a 17 foot levee?? the levee should have been 35 feet tall and able to withstand a full blast from a catagory 5 hurricane. talk about an engineering oversight. that's just plain ****.

i don't blame repressed ghetto people for looting walmart. if my house just got washed away by a flood, i'd want to stick it to the man too. i don't know about you all but i'm not above stealing from mega-conglomerate companies who are going to compensated by the government due to it's unbelievebly slow reaction time anyway. hell, i'm not above stealing in general. sorry if i've shattered anybody's image of me with that comment.

and as for dumb pr!ck buttnut president bush with his "help is on the way" speech (which he ripped off from that retard john kerry), did anybody else think it was a little odd that a whole day AFTER the worst natural disaster in this country's recent history, this sack of dognuts is saying "help is ON THE WAY"?? help should have been waiting. it did'nt take a triple doctorate in astro-physics to look at that satellight image the night before and see new orleans was in deep doo-doo. as usual, the poor folks take the big hit and bush sucks the big d!ck.

I DESPISE MY GOVERNMENT AND EVERYBODY IN IT AND I HOPE THEY ALL DIE SLOWLY.
 
Me and Kent were chatting about a month back and he showed me a map of this big ass suspension bridge that he drove on, and it seems to be the same exact area where the strongest part of the storm went through! I'm sure Kent had enough sense to get out of there but his PC mght be underwater!:scared: Here's hoping everything turns out OK. Stuff can be replaced, people can't.👍
 
yeah if memory serves me correctly, he is (or was at this point) living in slidell which is across the big-ass lake to the north and east. it would have been hit directly according to my calculations.

FINALLY found time for another "Serious" session. Marginal improvement in "S" & "R" Classes but found a bunch of time in the "O" Ride. Was chasing my fastest ghost for only a couple of laps when I saw 1.1xx seconds pop up in BLUE @ T-2...got all "Jelly Legged" & proceeded to get FOUR Tyres "OFF" in a spot where I never even get TWO Off!!! :banghead: Took me another 1/2 hour to get close & although I'm still a bit behind my "Miracle Lap" I'm over a Second ahead of my former time.

"S" Class: 25.794 / 1'00.748
"R" Class: 23.583 / 54.370
"O" Class: 22.753 / 52.138

AWFULLY quet around here! :irked: Hope we don't lose anymore Entrants! :trouble: ...O.G. :D

Still here, but not improving my times anymore. I've only just finished a 1.5 hour session with both cars but I think I peaked too early :crazy:
 
On what Max E. said about looting, I agree and disagree. In my opinion, looting is looting. But in their situation where relief is taking way too long, I can't blame them for ran-sacking grocery stores. But now it's gone past that. Latest news release says that they're looting ammo shops. What is this place coming to??? Is someone going to get shot because he/she is eating a piece of bread and won't give it up? This is stupid.

But anyways, the latest report on my status, I went home to find my house still standing and dry. Alot of debris to clean up. No power, fuel is scarce, ice and water is short supply. I'm crashing at my parents house (about an hour away to the east) til things get restored. Kent, we know you're okay, we just want to here from you.

I'm amazed at how many people thought they could stay with a massive F-4/F-5 hurricane directly aimed at one of the least likely to survive cities in the world!

What were they thinking?

Yes, it's a horrible situation that could have been even worse if the storm had not veered off to the east slightly....but what gave so many people the false notion that they could stay home that day....or the day after!.....or the next day....or the next month? There is a serious problem with that kind of thinking.

But, that said, the response is woefully slow and inadequate....what are they thinking?

I take it you've never been to Louisiana? :confused: They wear the title of "Crookedest State in the Union" with PRIDE!!! Well AFTER EVERY State official from the Governor on down has gotten their "Slice" of the Federal Pie...the people who really need it will get the "Crumbs!" :irked:
Even the French didn't want the place. We bought 1/2 of the continental US from them but ONLY on the condition we'd take Louisiana off their hands!!! :indiff:

Having gotten that off my chest...I'm still VERY worried about our friend Kent! :scared: ...O.G. :D

Found out I've been taking two corners completely wrong. Found heaps of time and I am finally happy with the lap times.

S: 26.003 / 1'00.979
R: 23.622 / 54.384

I carried tons of speed around the last couple of corners so I should give a few of the midfielders a good run for their money (I hope).

Very unfortunately bleurabbit7 has been forced to leave our series. Although his house is still standing since the onslaught of Katrina, he's withOUT power or fresh water I'm sure. I'm certain I speak for ALL the entrants here in wishing bleurabbit7 & his Family only the Very BEST in this trying situation. 👍
