:) The rear is starting to smell bad....all the tire smoke, exhaust fumes, beer cans, it's getting to hard to make a living in the rear.

Still embarassingly way off from Small Fryz hotrod! :)

First crack at 'R' class. Incredibly fun and incredibly frustrating at the same time. Every time my car sees a bump or a rumble strip, it tries to turn and run the other way

R:
0'23.1
0'54.0

@Dion ... any tips for T1 - T2? I'm having trouble seeing where I'm losing the plot.

Well, I'm at my safer location (but not completely out of the woods). I'm more worried about what I'm going to come home to due to the intensity of this storm.

Kent, I know you're in southern LA (not sure where though). I hope you evacuated and good luck to you.

For T1 - T2

I use top speed @ 250kph

Cross T1 line, brake late and down to 2nd, power on early and cut the apex make sure you use the whole road, but not the grass. up the straight you change right up to 4th. The next corner is tough, very slightly tap the brake and knock it down to 3rd, then power on and use up the whole road again, its important not to brake to much at this corner you can take it very fast when you get it right, make sure you never coast, its either all brake or all go this applies to all corners. take the next left flat (possible in O as well :p ) then coming up to the tight turn, brake hard down to 2nd late as you can with out running wide, aiming into the rumbles (so you brake into the corner right to the rumbles) then you floor it and change to 3rd and stick to the inside rumbles and then on exit you come out to hit or just miss the outside ones, then you cross T2.

This may not work for all cars, as i dont know all the gearing :S or handling of the other 2.

LEADERBOARD Updated! 👍

"Stay Dry" Kent & bleurabbit7...we'll all be Pulling for you! ...O.G. :D

Just spoke with Kent and everything is thankfully ok where he lives, which is on the other side of the lake from new orleans, opposite the way the flooding is supposed to occur. Hope you're ok bleurabbit :scared:

Had a few laps after kai tonight and the S car is very nice 👍

25.500 / 1.00.138

will try and get a few more laps in soon :)

Splits for me in O-Class:

T1: 0'23.563
T2: 0'53.548

This beast is much easier to handle on this track for some reason. (Must be the new Tarmac.) :D

I know i only speak for a few people, but is it possible to put this series on hold until after the BC? once this round is done?

This is by far the most fun ive had in GT4 and id love to continue and race all the races. If not then count me in for Series 2!

With only 2 events left, I say we keep going. I know I'm only running 1 event but with a 1 month lay off, some people my not remember to come back. Like Bob! :dopey: ;)

Yep. Let's finish the job. 👍

After this great success I'm sure, Bob will make a follow up series later. After all there's still lots of cool tracks we'll miss this time. Like Swiss Alps. :D

Finally found time for this weeks event. Not a big fan of this track but I'm finding a few good lines to take.

S: 26.222 / 1'01.598

Made a bad run from T2 to the finish line but I can see where I'm losing time so practice should improve me around 1 second through T2 soon.

R: 23.593 / 55.246

I'm stuffing up the right-left / left-right combo. I keep going too far over the curbing and bouncing all over the place. Plenty of time to be found yet.

Jeeze!!! What's with you guys? I go off for a coupla days to visit my Daughter & celebrate my Birthday & when I get back you're "Flying!" Thought for sure I'd "Catch Up" quickly but after an hour in each ride I'm still way off the pace :irked: Sure didn't think I'd get that "Rusty" in only three days! :indiff:

Seriously...Looks like everyone is still having phun. Since I only tested a handfull of laps here it's a new adventure for me! 👍 Better get some data posted for the T-Time leaderboard:

"S" Class: 26.039 / 1'01.401
"R" Class: 23.530 / 54.808
"O" Class: 23.210 / 52.943

Please keep Kent & bleurabbit7 in your thoughts...I'll rest a lot easier when we've heard from them...O.G. :D

I hope Kent and Bleurabbit7 are fine also 👍 .... lets see a post from these 2 to know they are in good health

had a few more laps in the S car ... 25.418 / 1.00.031 :)
this car is made for this track I think! .... looking for the 59 T2 which is there with some luck 👍

Checking in. I'm okay as well as my family. We lost power for about 8.5 hours. No damage in the area (maybe because of the other 2 previous storms that have knocked out everything). I have still yet to go home to survey damage due to closed roads. I'm am very nervous to see what has happened as I've heard parts of the city was under 8-10 feet of water, winds of 80 mph with gusts well over 100 mph. I know for a fact that I have no power so when I get there, I will not be able to get on-line til power is restored. That's my update for now. Kent, I hope we hear from you soon and that everything is okay where you are.

KOOL! VERY Good to hear you & your family are "OK" 👍 Now we just need word from Kent! ...O.G. :D

Even if I wanted to, I can't go home because of flooding on the roadways. I just want to know what my house looks like. :nervous:

Class S

T1: 25.607

T2: 1'00.223

Knocked a bit off of my S-Class times the other day...would still like to find some more but I'm not sure if I will be able to.

25.371
59.857

I love driving this little bugger.👍 👍 👍

Wrecking my "O" car cost more than I thought it would. Now I can't afford the entry PHees for the rest of the races.
Good luck everyone, I'll be in the bleachers tippin' one back. :)

I submitted my time for the 'R' Class car. I don't want to blow the deadline again.

Try as I might....I never could get the 2nd sector to click. So, I surrender :indiff:

Hey, I had fun.... :) :) :)

P.S- Glad to hear that our Louisiana racers are OK! It seems like icemanshooter reports a few posts back that Kent is west of the real intense stuff, and is okay. 👍

New splits from the R-Class.

23.478
54.649

Not much of an improvement of the splits, but I sort of smoothened the last section. :D

Back to the O-Class. :scared:

Well, since I had a little time between watching hurricane coverage....I thought I'd back my 'O' Class ride out for some shake-down laps. Once I figured out how to keep it on the track:

T-1=23.535

T-2=53.752

I'm trying to decide whether to stay out on the track, or just get out of everybodies way. Some of these guys are flying around here!

UPDATE: A few more laps with slight changes in technique:

T-1=23.027

T-2=52.804

I feel like 'Mr. Clean' with all the speed I'm scrubbing off! :yuck:

Just to relate MY "Tale of Woe" :irked: Spurred on by reports from Gt3Emperor & NilesG I gave my "R" Class ride another shot. Was 0.498 AHEAD @ T-1 ...then managed to lose it all + More before the finish line! :banghead: ...O.G. :D

STILL waiting for word from Kent! :scared:

:) I know how that feels....that's why I finally gave up trying.

I'm in the same mode with this 'O' car....if I run a good 1st sector, I'll blow the 2nd....and so on, etc., etc., etc....

So, I'm going to park it, knowing there's more time to gain, but it would take days to get the consistency to actually do it.

'O' Class:

T-1=23.219

T-2=52.687

Edit: I noticed the updated leaderboard....I'll have to let you and NielsG go, I'm all in on this one. I'll see you all at the next round. 👍

G'Day all!

Made some progress last night in O-Class. 👍
I had a PHantastic T1 of 0'22.899 (for me anyway), got so excited and stuffed up the next 2 corners giving me a horrid T2 of 0'53.xxx. I then proceeded to follow that up with a stonking finish. :banghead: All in all, I beat my previous time by almost a second. 👍

Now if I can just do that T1 again... :D

C ya.

P.S. Gearing @ 250

leaderboard updated, sorry it took a while guys :(.

Will run R tommorow to see if i can up the bar just a bit more :p. I should have enought time to do a few sessions in O and R in the next 2 weeks as well 👍

O-Class:

23.119
52.618

Don't know really know if that'll be my last one this week.

Anyway I'm looking forward to the next stage. 👍 :D

STILL waiting for word from Kent! :scared:

Man I just seen the place on the news :nervous: very badly flooded after some dams gave way .... lets hope he is ok!

C'mon Kent mate give us a sign 👍

"About 1 million Louisiana residents have been left without homes."
"Across Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, more than 1 million residents remained without electricity, some without clean drinking water."
"We are looking at 12 to 16 weeks before people can come in" to New Orleans.
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,167781,00.html

Sounds like even if Kent is on the dry side, life could still be hellish at the moment. :( Hopefully everything's alright and he just doesn't have the means to let us know.
