Bit off topic, but have you ever seen one of these in person? In pictures they look okay, but in person, the grill and the whole front of the car looks huge. It is really a very big car, and looks quite ponderous from some angles.

I saw a deep red one at the Melbourne motorshow in 2004, yes its a large car, I still love it (love at first sight, I didn't know what it was called then). I realise I'm in the minority on this. I have a sneaking suspicion that if the Scaglietti were branded as an Aston, and had a cooler name, everyone would love it hehe.

1-British racing Green Aston Martin DB9, nicest looking car EVER made imo.
Jeremy Clarkson would approve :). I would approve even more if thats at all possible.

A BMW M5, a lotus Exige and this

Actually, I'd replace the Cerbera 4.5..... No the Noble........ No the Cerbera. Damn this is tough for me, I'd flip a coin and replace one of thoes with the new BMW M5 in silver, as someone said before, you need a car to say my sedans better than yours and you can't go wrong with a 200Mph sedan.

Pfft. Also, the paint quality on many of the new Ferraris is horrible. I saw a Scaglietti in a showroom, and the paint on the hood was incredibly wavy.

No, the Scaglietti is a beautiful car in the metal, not quite that in pictures but it's not the right style to be an Aston Martin, I understand what your saying if it was a FIAT Scaglietti or something like that but it's a Ferrari, thats hardly an uncool marquee.

Its good to see that Aston and Lambo aren't too far behind Ferrari. And that we don't have pages of Skylines listed. (I'd hate for us to repeat one fo GT4's big flaws) Is anyone adding these up?

And 240, put a / right in front of the Q in the second quote. That should do it!

Ah. Didn't see that. My brain isn't working right today. :dunce:

Yeah I know the Scaglietti isn't styled at all like an Aston, but to me fulfills a similar purpose. I was just trying to show it was a fish out of water in the Ferrari family - but certainly not the ugly duckling!
Wavy paint... the day I start looking for minor faults with a Ferrari's paintjob is when I stop getting excited by cars. It looked pretty sexy to me! (240Z might've just seen a bad one?) Its a welcome return to the long bonnet classic sportscars of the 50s/60s, done in a contemporary way. I expect a few little flaws with a Ferrari... Its like a beautiful women with a few freckles, you just don't care.

There were similar flaws on most of the other cars in the showroom (Rosso Corsa 360, Black 550 were the most noticeable). It just shows a degrade in quality. Look at a paintjob on a late 60s, early-mid 70s Ferrari, then compare it to a newer one. The older car will have a better paintjob. For what you'd be paying for a new Ferrari, I'd expect less flaws.

Nice. I love the Zephyr. One of the most Beautiful Cars ever. I got to see a 1947 Lincoln Continenal Convertible at a car show, it was in mint Condition. There wasn't a spec of damage anywhere.

there's also a link out there with frenched in headlights from the factory. catching a Connie one is rare.
one of the sweetest things I've seen is a 47 Kaiser that somebody gave a metallic respray to. there's something about those dome hoods in metallic paint

1) McLaren F1 LM - in orange
2) Ultima 640R - as fast as above, but at £68k you wouldn't mind pranging it so much
3) Lambo Countach LP400 - cleaner shape than the arched, winged later cars
4) Lambo LM002 - the 4x4 that the H2 wants to be - you've got to have at least one practical motor
5) Lotus 26R - Macca F1 designer Gordon Murrays favourite handling car - good enough reason for me!
6) M3 E30 - purest of the M range
7) XJR-15 - based on the LeMans race winning XJR-9's carbon tub and running gear
8) Metro 6R4 - clubman version in plain white with tarmac spec set-up
9) F40 - every top ten list needs one of these
10) 911 Carrera 2.7RS - between this and the contemporary GT3 - 911's at their purest

Hmm... I can see that some here are culturally biased in their choices. Some prefer all Japanese or American or a certain marque. Well here is my list with reasons.

In no order. All Japanese models refers to JDM models.

1. Honda Civic Type R (EK9) - This is actually my most favourite car in the world. Its compact, reasonably fast for its class, has to be the most sweetest handling FF around and looks that never fades for me plus the most unique production VTEC engine. And its good for an everyday driver.

2. Honda Integra Type R (DC5) - The new generation I-VTEC at its best with new levels of handling. Its top in its class for track days and severely underated as a mid level sportscar.

3. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR (CN9A) - This is my fav Evo. Its unassuming looks is actually very aggresive in nature with out the V and VI bulges.

4. Nissan Skyline GT-R V-spec (BNR34) - The best Skyline GT-R. Fantastic to enjoy stock. Trick chassis and centre console makes the car a Sony on wheels while delivering fantastic performance.

5. Honda NSX-R 2002 - Japan's only supercar. Underatted among supercars of European origin. This is a hardcore machine that can still be driven sedately in town.

6. Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT Apex (AE86) - Old but trick, Initial D heritage and pop in a black top 4A-GE and it transforms into a monster.

7. Mercedes Benz CLS 55 AMG - If you ever try this car, you will know what I mean. there is nothing like sheer torque combined with exceptional build quality and utter comfort for long distance touring, plus a fuel economy that will embarrass some supercars of the same power level.

8. BMW 330i 2005 - The latest 3 is the cream of the compact Euro corp. Inheriting components fro mits older siblings, the new 3 is a nimble package of sleek style and dynamic performance that Bavaria's best has always delivered.

9. Ferrari 355 - In my opnion the best looking Ferrari. Perhaps the last of the rawest MR V8 that Maranello has produced.

10. Lotus Elise 2005 - Finally they put in an engine that will fully exploit the chassis. Although personally I would put in a B18C5 from a Integra Type R.

You know, it's easy to put out lists with flavor of the month cars... I could whip out at least 25 cars I'd fancy off the top of my head. But that's a bit too easy, honestly. I don't think I'll even get all the way to 10.

A 1963 Corvette Coupe, with the split window, preferrably in a dark blue, would be one of my 10 cars. Originally it was a quite controversial design, which lured GM into getting rid of the split window in 1964 onwards. Look at those lines, from a time when cars were styled with the intent of looking good rather than being aerodynamic devices. I'd use that as a cruiser, you know, warm and sunny summer evening, Beach Boys playing on the radio... That's the kind of car anyone would look cool in.

I would really like a Lamborghini Miura as well, especially an SV model like the one pictured here. Why would I want one? It's the best looking car on earth, that's why. I don't care if it drove like a truck, or if the front end got lighter and lighter as the speeds went up, just look at it. That would certainly be the centerpiece of my small collection.

After those two beauties, I'd need a daily driver/long distance cruiser, something comfortable, but still fun to drive. Something like an Audi S4, come to think of it. It certainly looks discreet enough, and makes all the right noises.

Track toys? Sure! One of these, in black and one of these, which I already have would be perfect. Second to the original Mini Cooper in terms of front wheel drive handling, the Integra's already pretty much perfect from the factory. Slap some slicks and stronger brake pads, and go lapping all day! Pretty much the same with the Z06, actually. How can two cars so different be so similar, I don't know. But I love them both.

I'm a diehard fan of the Porsche 911, so I'd obviously want one. Which one is more complicated... the new GT3, a classic 2.7RS, or the utterly mad GT2? I think I'll settle with a 993 Turbo (or Turbo S in this case), though I really don't know what I'd do with it. Maybe the kind of car you'd take for a drive up a mountain or something like that.

I think that's it, really. 1 down, 5 to go!

 Seriously though, that's one of the best looking tuner cars I've ever seen. 👍

First wingless RX7 I actually like. Needs a set of bronze or gold Volk CE28Ns, and it'd be almost perfect.
